Norman Horn, who runs the website Libertarian Christians, has an excellent editorial in favor of christians of the libertarian persuasion and Ron Paul...
Christians in American politics have argued for years that God endorses the political agenda of Republicans or Democrats, but is there a third way to think about the relationship between God and government?

Christians from the left and the right are increasingly turning to libertarianism not because it is a “middle ground,” but because it is an entirely different way of thinking about government and power.
I especially like this paragraph...
It is truly unfortunate that modern American churches seem to think the state’s means of “spreading democracy” through aggressive war is more important than spreading the peaceful message of the Gospel of Christ. Jesus came to bring “peace on earth, good will to men,” and by extension the Christian’s goal ought to be the same. Rep. Paul wrote in Liberty Defined : “It’s a far stretch and a great distortion to use Christianity in any way to justify aggression and violence.” War kills the innocent, destroys property, and bankrupts nations. Christian libertarians believe that a non-interventionist foreign policy of peace, commerce, and honest friendship is more consistent with how God expects us to interact with world neighbors.

Ron Paul actually did well tonite. He did get shot down a lot too. But at least tonite he didn't sound like the crazy uncle
Santorum looks like a kid sitting at the adult table for the first time
Perry doesn't look like he wants to be there
If there were more debates Newt would rise in the polls again
Huntsman....who cares
Mitt. SMOOTH is looking for a guy with biz experience and executive experience this is his guy. The only question is are the criticisms of him not being conservative socially or economically based? Because on the economic side he sounds pretty conservative

Did Perry really say he wants to send troops back to Iraq? I didn't get to watch it tonight due to an outing with my church but why doesn't the guy just drop out? Who is advising him? Terrible Terrible Terrible.

Because he has a ton of money, and believe it or not, he's still the preferred candidate of a lot of the conservative base. But, man, he is horrible in these debates. He's just not quick-witted.

Purple Mittens Haize, the least you can do is try to appear objective!

This whole debate was a hatchet job on Santorum. I don't like him at all, but why was almost every question about social issues? Exactly. Nobody cares about social issues right now.

Having said that, if it concerns you that two boys may be somewhere kissing, and every Muslim should have his turban randomly checked for explosives, and you're ready for World War III (and willing to volunteer), then vote for Santorum. But hey, he'll still spend as much as a Democrat!

I sorta like the Purple Mitt-ens ( see the hyphen would clue people in.) :D

Where was I that off in my analysis? I said Paul looked his best in his original answers. But he did get hurt in rebuttals. For instance, when referencing Iran he gave a great answer about their nuclear program and referenced the sailors we rescued. Vbt then it was brought up that if Paul had his way we wouldn't have had a naval ship there to rescue them in the first place. His response, crickets.

Santorum just looked in over his head.

Romney DID have the live of the nite when he said to Huntsman 'You were in China so you may not have heard. But over here we were fighting the Presidents policies that you were trying to implement.'

Social issues are important to me but not THE most important thing. Santorum and Perry are big because they are social conservatives.

It's funny, you stormed onto this message board crying "Liberals this and liberals that!", and now you pretty much talk like one. Did you get these talking points from Dr. Paul?

Democrats=liberals. They're two peas in a pod. Name me one democrat who isn't a liberal?

Libertarians are typically socially liberal anyway. Some don't except certain behaviors, but the believe the government shouldnt get involved. I'm not for gay marriage, but let the states decide.

What you describe of me saying when I first came on here was fiscal liberalism. I have not changed, nor will I ever on those.

I'm not one of the Ronbots who thinks he's the savior of the universe. But he seems to be the only guy who economically gets it.

I just heard on the El Rushbo show Newt's anti-Romney attack ads. It amazes me. "predatory capitalism". Either you're for the free market or not Newt. Get it straight. Or, perhaps you want to run as a liberal? I don't think Newt is one, but he's proving he's not really changed much since the 90's.

Oh, and quit dragging your wife everywhere you go. The fact you do makes me even more suspicious. Besides, if anything you're just using her.

I hate Mittens, but cmon Newt, you aren't any better. You're just hiding behind the "Super PAC" to say you've got nothing to do with it.

It's not Newt's wife I hate. I just hate how he's using her like "oh, forget about how many wives I cheated on and interns I bonked, my wife right now likes me and forgives me."

Please Newt. It's so disingenuous.

I don't really care much about spouses, Michelle Obama being the lone exception due to her outlandish American hating language and lecturing Americans and how to live their lives. Thanks, but we don't want you to, we'll eat a pizza whether you like it or not, and you're gonna like it. :P

Wait, don't they all campaign with their families? I mean, Romney and Huntsman have their kids doing stump speeches for them. And if a guy has had a problem with infidelity in the past, I would think it's a good idea to keep the spouse close by. I don't get why issues are made when there aren't any.

I'm just waiting for Newt's wife to get critically ill and him to get another one. Then he can just claim God's forgiveness and continue campaigning against gay rights.

If Newt's the nominee, I'm voting Obama. Fortunately it looks like Newt is fading away.

So this is from a few days ago but what do you all think of Stephen Colbert's and his super pac (well now Jon Stewart's Super Pac)? For those who haven't seen it here is a clip below. It makes some interesting points about how washington is run, not that it's new information, how it's all about the $$$.

Colbert has really down a great job of explaining the flaws of our system by utilizing the gimicks of super pacs and a 501C-4. What a crazy system we have.

Stephen Colbert for President of the United States of South Carolina

So there's a huge Paul supporter in my class. He's been going on about the Federal Reserve for almost 20 minutes now...

Sometimes I wonder if I dont have to be an absolute drone, yet still like Ron Paul..,
