If I was looking at filling this last game and keeping it FCS Id guess that itd have to be another MEAC, SWAC or OVC squad because I think the pickings would be pretty slim for teams in the major conferences

It is actually tougher to schedule a SWAC team than a CAA school. They have hardly any non-conference matchups and when they do it is usually a guarantee game.

Just thinking aloud, feel free to disagree, but if Montana is to return in 2016, and our dreams are to be FBS, why in the world would we want to play them? Only time could tell but usually only PAC 10 teams play Montana because they could beat half the teams from the Mountain West and WAC.

Because we will have the shoe on the other foot from where we stand right now. We'll be looking to fill home dates and we booked this one at current FCS prices. Who knows? Perhaps they will be FBS by then as well. They have budgetary concerns holding them back today from the Montana statehouse. But that could change in the not too distant future. The WAC already came calling once. The Griz may not turn them down the next time they call.

My guess is itll come out around signing day which is in a few weeks. remember we still have to fill in one more home game and based on what is being said on here and what is no doubt being discussed, they are doing everything they can for it to be an FCS team.

Lang, when is the last day that the schedule has to be finalized??

Not sure there is a day it has to be done by. Whenever they can get an opponent to sign a contract and send it in. As much as I know that they want to get a DI home game, I wonder how much of a struggle that will be considering the sort of limbo the program is in with the feasibility study. Might be hard to get a home-and-home with someone when you can't guarantee you'll return the trip.
