No but the adidas kansas jacket would be sweet to have for Liberty (I know were a Nike school, but still)

25-49 overall record with ONE winning season on his resume. Taking out his KU years, he still has a 20-30 overall record, 14-18 in the MAC. Team actually got worst in his 4th year, which would be a team that theoretically is playing a ton of his recruits...

Count as me as unimpressed with the hire.

crap, we don't have your support!!! Fire him now and look elsewhere guys!! haha

Seriously though I get where you are coming from but to get what he got from a program in Buffalo that couldn't care any less about football is pretty good. Kansas was a train wreck and was a wreck when he got there and will get even worse with Weiss in there. I am cautiously optimistic about they hire

Just a question... but how come our athletics page never has "splash" type page for big news like this? A lot of other teams do this, I think its cool. Or to advertise big games/ etc... I think it helps fan interest a lot. Just a thought. :dontgetit

There are coaches with winning seasons that should have won more games...only to disappoint.
There are coaches with losing seasons that should have lost more games...but they surprised.
With TG, we will win the games we should win and more!
Go Flames!!!

In short we are looking to move to FBS sooner rather than later. we are beginning a "feasibility study" but we are gonna start pitching 1-A conferences Q1 2012 (February-March is that they said)

Is anybody aware of any flights that went out Monday to Spartanburg (home of SoCon HQ, where App. St. officials allegedly were) & to Bowling Green, KY (WKU)? I'm not saying it's true but I'm hearing some distant rumors about a jump with App. St. Anybody care to shed some light on this, if there is any light to be shed?

This! =]

Oh, and would there be any possibility of us going to Spartanburg to possibly putting our name in for filling ASU's missing spot if they move up? I know that's not our intentions, but just thinking...

The only problem I see with this is Turner Gill wasn't hired to take us from one FCS conference to the other (although, SoCon is a HUGE step up nonetheless). He's here to take us to the FBS.

we've had the discussion ad infinitum but to cut it off before you even start: the SoCon is MOST CERTAINLY NOT A HUGE STEP UP and we HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN THEM or any other FCS conf.

Sometimes I wonder about the people who post things. Did you not listen to the press conference? We're going FBS. Get used to it. Get CAA & SOCON out of your vocabulary and insert Sunbelt and MAC.

I never questioned anything about moving to another FCS conference. I'm just curious about the other stuff.
