Yeah, I think that Bowden is out. If your dad doesn't think you want to coach anymore, you either don't or you must not really show any drive for it. Hagan kinda scares me. Just a general lack of HC experience. And I hate the Browns.

i thought all along that Gill would be the number 1 target based off what JB said and his credentials. I admit i dont know much about Hagen but his resume reminds me of Dale Layers a bit. Seems solid but nothing that stands out. The more I've thought about it i really like Turner and i hope that the interest is mutual. Lang's part about the plane headed to lawrence has to be it doesn't it. What else would we be doing in lawrence kansas?

On a side note, talked to Dante Shells uncle yesterday at my branch. He saw my Liberty mini helmet and we started talking. Lets just say that the family there isn't crying that DR is gone either after a couple experiences they had directly involving him the last couple months. I was a little dissappointed in that. Of course that's one man's side and not DR's but it fit with some of the side of DR he showed in that exit interview. Oh well, on to Tuner!!

Yeah I don't see what else that plane would be doing there. It has to be related, and I would think this late in the search we wouldn't be flying out there unless there was some interest on Gill's part.

If Gill were to be hired, what kind of offense did they run at UB and Kansas?

I have been told "they already know who the candidate is." Candidate, as in singular. What that means?...

And it's not my most reliable source, but take it FWIW

I'm not familiar with how this stuff works, but wouldn't it have made more sense to have sent the jet out and bring him here for the "interview"

I sure hope they change the white helmets. Or at least add some stripes across the top. It's the only part of our uniforms that I dislike.

When Doc hired Rocco, he made the comment that he was looking for a "football coach, not a Sunday school teacher."

But with Gill and his outspoken Christianity, it seems like you get BOTH.

What's so great about Turner Gill? He turned around a Buffalo team before it took a few steps back in his last year at the helm. He then did nothing at Kansas in two years.

The only thing positive I see is that he was probably a victim of the "Peter Principle" and shouldn't be too overwhelmed coaching at a lesser level.

Heck, Rocco had a better record against Division I-AA schools than Turner Gill did when he was at Kansas (Gill went 1-1).

Who is in Elizabethtown, KY?
Elizabethtown is basically where Fort Knox is so maybe we're breaking the bank for Gill? haha. It's also pretty much in between Western Kentucky and Louisville, if you want to speculate at all.

Look up what Buffalo was doing before Gill came on the scene, what he did there was impressive. KS was all around bad but not all of the issues where in his control.

Who is in Elizabethtown, KY?
Elizabethtown is only 40 miles from Louisville. Although if you're going to Louisville why not fly into Louisville? Any possible candidates at Louisville?

I don't know anything about these guys except from reading their coaching profiles from UofL:

Vance Bedford, Defensive Coordinator
Kenny Carter, Running Backs/Special Teams
Larry Slade, Secondary
Shawn Watson, Quarterbacks

Anybody know if any of these guys would fit with us?

Seriously Elizabethtown, KY?
Follow it and see where it goes from there. I'm thinking it probably has something to do with Louisville. Or it could just be a random stop unrelated and then right back to Lynchburg.
