You know, it could just be that the thread is about the intermont game, not what you think about Barber (as if we didn't already know).

ToC you know that we are getting sick and tired of you bringing your obvious hatred toward JB into EVERY discussion so give it a bloody rest...youre an embarrassment to yourself and to the guy you claim to support.

As for the game itself, Intermont saw this as their national championship game. They came out guns blazing and wanted to have their "Chaminade moment" (Ok we arent number 1 in the country but you get my point if you know what Im referring to). We did well to finally assert ourselves and get out to a good lead in the second half

No its because the reason why you are still so angry is because of RD. In your crusade to protect your man you have completely tarnished his name. I find that absolutely pathetic.

Jesse fell one assist shy of another triple double in this game. If he gets one this year, he will be the first player in NCAA history to have one in 4 consecutive years. Layer put him back in the game for a couple of minutes late, probably to give him a shot at it, but he came out again with a couple of minutes left. May have been his best chance, but he has come pretty close against better opponents already this year, so I wouldn't bet against him getting it.

Nice to see Baird get meaningful minutes and contribute, even if it was against an inferior opponent. Even if Gielo comes back healthy, I think we will need some good minutes from Steven to do any damage in conference play.

Good 2nd Half.

First I didn't bring RD into this....the BJ poster did in some attempt to find a reason why I would feel that bad basketball, with limited talent and dwindling attendance was any issue. Now you call it pathetic. What is pathetic is how blind you are to the position of this programs? We stumbled home in football with a tarnished name in the community cause we play a cocaine felon when no other institution would have. (did you see the Cincinnati basketball coach after the fight yesterday with Xavier, "everybody take your jersey off...that is not how we represent CU...not our coach and AD find a "new approach to Christianity" so we keep a felon on the field. that's Pathetic) We are 1-13 in last 14 basketball games and I bet paid attendance is not 100 spectators. That is Pathetic.

I watch the Hankinson debacle and have great concern with what I see for LU. Sure I think RD was done wrong but what I am looking at is the state of LU athletics 2011 and it raises great concerns. So call me names if it satisfies some false reality you have about where the program is...we are better served if there was accountability to decisions and all the resources delivered meningful victories not over sold pr campaigns.

You must not be familiar with my posts. I am far from a huge fan of how the athletic dept as a whole is run. I think there is plenty of room for improvement. Your opinion on the athletic dept is not the problem I have with you. It is what drives you to have that opinion that simply makes me feel bad for RD. He deserves better then what you have given him.

Also lets not pretend the Asa decision was one man's decision. Yes it was completely ridiculous that he was allowed back on the field to represent LU, but to blame that decision on simply one man is misguided. It was a bad decision from the top on down simply because certain individuals trusted a head football coach to make the best decision for the program, not for himself. Unfortunately he was simply trying to help himself and JFJ and JB look bad because of it. I would dare say that kind of thing will not be done again or at least I hope so.

My point is this. There are plenty of us upset with some of the things that have gone on, but the RD thing is far from what I am worried about. It was a choice that probably needed to be done because of certain things I believe he lost control of. That is not a shot at him as a man, but sometimes you simply lose site of things. He was a good coach and I am really surprised he isn't coaching somewhere right now. Now the choices made after not renewing his contact, those are the choices that make be cringe.

I don't know how I can make it more clear to you why I find your posts so ridiculously annoying. Simply put you have tarnished a good man's reputation because from the outside looking in it almost looks like he sent his friends to protect him and they just didn't know when to stop. That probably isn't true but that is how it looks.

I've been to every home game and have avoided making any comments until now. Yesterday was the worst game of Liberty basketball that I have ever seen. VA Intermont isn't even a DIII team, they are NAIA. They have 591 Undergrads, we have 12,000 and 50 times the budget they do. Why were we losing at half-time to these guys? It took us 30 minutes of basketball to pull away from a NAIA team. Really? I don't care if we have injuries or not, our practice squad should be able to beat an NAIA team. Outside of Montreat, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we didn't win another game. If we play like we did last night, everyone will beat us.

Don't be hatin on the NAIA. Should a D1 team beat them? Yes. But there is not always a big difference between the NAIA and most D3/2 schools. And this isn't the first time a Liberty team has been down to an NAIA team at half.

As I said before, this was their "national championship". This is probably their biggest game on the year for them and they played like it. Combine that with the fact that we were down to basically our rotation, that can lend itself to less than stellar performances

The problem is that this is still a bad NAIA team. Also, we are to the point now where we should be making the next step. I understand that we're still recovering from McKay's mess and there are a lot of injuries. However, I've adopted a no-excuse philosophy, you're judged on your results. Despite injuries and past coaches, we still should look like an above average mid-major D1 team by this point. Yet we barely look like a bad D1 team right now. We've won 3 games and 2 of those games were against non-D1 teams. Furthermore, we weren't being outplayed in the first 30 minutes yesterday, we were just playing downright horrible. Also, only 6 points came from the bench, 6. So, you know it was our current starters that were out there getting beat by an average to below-average NAIA team. We should really be 7-4 right now, including the injuries, but we're 3-8. Not to mention 2 of those wins are against Non-D1 teams. Sorry but that isn't an injury problem.

You continue to bring RD into my post. Yes IMO we would be way ahead with him and his staff, but I am talking about where we are at and who is accountable....we live on the hype of a department who is yet to deliver. So when some of us ask questions it is only because we like RD or HOW ABOUT that maybe it is time for some questions to be considered.

ToC. The athletic department and the University have always lived on the hype. Whether it is saying things like there is no step up from Liberty or this is the best coaching staff in the country. If you can't get used to taking the hype with a huge grain of salt then you are in for a miserable career as a fan of LU

I love the hype argument as if the athletic dept isn't suppose to try to get people to come out...I remember them hyping up the karcher football teams too.
