So in an ideal world we announce new big name head coach by 1st week of January (TBD). We then announce move to Conf-USA in mid January for 2012 year. We end the spring getting commitments from a number of recruits we only dreamed about before. :koolaid :koolaid :koolaid

Sounds like a probable timeline right BJ?

Is this like our fantasy list or are you guys listing realistic people. Because Turner Gil is pretty awesome. I would assume that he is waaay out of our league but then again, I'm not really familiar with how "big" of a name we actually could land.

He's probably out of our league but he's jobless. If the FBS stuff is anywhere close to what Sly has been inferring then it could be an interesting job for him. He definitely fits our mold.

DR was an associate head coach at an ACC school 6 years ago. Look at us 6 years ago and look at us now.

lol...First part sounds workable. second part is pushing it (I dont think we would make that big a jump that soon...2013 maybe but not 2012). Third would make sense but only in light of the second

From a Coastal fan:
We may be happy to see him gone on the one hand but like I said, with the money and facilities Liberty will dangle in front of somebody, I would be shocked if his replacement doesn't come from the FBS ranks (just like he did) and is just as good as he was. They aren't spending money hand over fist, expanding their stadium and constructing buildings to lose. Or even to finish second with pretty good teams. That just isn't good enough.

My Grandmother is from there. Grew up in Lincoln and I grew up hearing about it. Got to go out there with her a few years ago. Didn't get to see a game though

Tressel, Brown and Dungy? Do you really think they would come to LU? Expectations by administration are too high, harder to recruit than at the BCS level AND harder than most FBS schools. Coaches spend just as many hours at the office, but are surrounded by folks who just don't get it. When LU bumps up maybe they can attract another coach who was AS qualified as Rocco.

Not interested...I am not gonna go from never having coached a second of football in my life to being head coach putting in 80 hour weeks. I'll stick to being a fan at this point

I think with our resources, facilities, and potential, we could land a medium-big name coach. To land a big name, Williams Stadium expansion would have to speed up and an FBS jump would have to be in the near future.

Is it just me, or why would we ever want to post a link for those wanting to apply for the job? Are we that desperate?

It does come across that way or a bit odd, but I've seen it before. I'm wondering if it's perhaps a compliance thing? The worst was the Big South twitter feed tweeting it like they are trying to get an intern.
Rocco leaves Flames, Liberty begins replacement search...if you're qualified, you can contact carrsportsassociatesliberty@gmail.com!
I went to Arkansas State's site to see if there was something similar, but didn't see anything. They are using the same Carr group though.
Lee said a national search for a new head head coach will begin immediately and that ASU would utilize the services of Carr Sports Associates, Inc. to assist with the search. Carr Sports Associates, Inc. is one of the nation’s most trusted resources for solutions regarding leadership placement and program advancement exclusively within Intercollegiate Athletics. Carr Sports Associates, Inc. has assisted ASU with former coaching hires such as men’s basketball head coach John Brady and head baseball coach Tommy Raffo.

That's good. It'd be real tough to go through the entire interview process, make it to the last round of callbacks, and then have to let them know you probably couldn't put in the necessary hours. You wouldn't want to waste all of their time and resources. Kudos for recognizing this upfront.

I will chalk that up to an attempt at humor on your part blwall but being a coach requires a lot of personal investment (as Im sure a few on here who are or have been can attest). Youre putting in 12-16 hour days during the season preparing for each opponent, then add to that (at the collegiate level) flying all over the country to recruit high school kids and sit in kitchens and living rooms explaining why their son should spend the next 4 or 5 years of his life under your tutelage. And Im sure that is barely scratching the surface of all that being a coach entails.

You'd figure firm conducting a NATIONAL search would at least be LEGIT enough to use its own domain name.

This isn't a local pizza shop. Do work!

You must not know me very well.

Small maw & paw shops are already realizing that business emails through "gmail" are unprofessional. There's no reason they can't customize an address through their domain name. I can't call it lazy because this gmail account took just as much time to create as a libertyfootball@carrsportsassociates.com account would take. It's beyond stupid.
