If I were Coach Rocco, I'd play 7 in the box all game (even when VMI shows a 3 wide set), and dare them to throw. And rush all 11 on punts, don't worry about fielding them, they'll only travel 31 yards anyway......it can't get any worse for VMI as it was the past 6 quarters.

My family will be there, celebrating my son and I's birthday. Can't believe he is 1 year old already. Quickest year of my life.

I just want to reiterate in this thread, since it's the preview thread, that this game has zero meaning and I'll be very disappointed if we aren't preparing for Stony Brook. Of course I guess I won't because I'll never know if they are or not. But they should be.

The pace only gets quicker, FlamerBob.

I'll be doing my best to watch online around my family's incredibly busy schedule on Saturdays in the fall.

As for the Keydets, I have a hard time picking key players. But here are the ones that stand out:

Good call ... I'd love to see that look. Then again, I'd love to bring back the navy helmets.

I disagree with you, but we don't really have a say since we're not the coaches. I think 2 weeks is plenty of time to prepare for SBU. No need to underhype a game and no need to overhype SBU where we could come out "too" pumped up and make mistakes.

This will just add to the atmosphere. I love ragging the Keydets.

Hoping the rats can storm the endzone for a 3-pushup field goal score. 8)

Are they marching over from Lexington?

I'm not sure whether I should be impressed that you used parentheses in a meaningful fashion or disappointed that you used them in a meaningless statement.

Who knows what goes on in BJ's mind, but maybe he was implying that VMI would score at least a touchdown against us, if this season's history means anything.

VMI cant score pretty much. THey have not shown this year that with their offense they can hang in a shootout. If they score more than 28 and we dont have more than 40 points, I'll be surprised

Dont see any place to put it, but we're up to 22 in the TSN poll. Sounds about right.

There's a bye week in-between? And what happens if SB loses before we play them?

SBU has to lose twice before we play them while we beat VMI for the final game to have no meaning. Otherwise one team or the other would have just one loss and in the event of a tie, head-to-head determines the auto bid.

Gotcha - but what is SB loses both. I just never think it's a good idea to not play to win. Have you ever seen Survivor? ;)

I agree wholeheartedly. SBU has to lose both games so we would have 2-game lead heading into the finale for it to not matter on Long Island.

All the games count in my mind and I want to get our offense back on track this week so we head to Stony Brook with some confidence.
