Beej, what is our all time record versus D1 opponents who are not yet eligible for conference championships because they just moved up from D2?
Course the point is that when PC has come to Lynchburg of late...it has not been pretty...last time the Blue Hose left Lynchburg with a win...1985
I think I remember some of that game.

This will be our first gauge to compare how we stand against Stoney Brook.
I don't think it will be a total blow out, but we are at home, so we should win big.
If not, we face a huge away battle with SB in Nov. !
Start getting the buses ready, we'll need support for the SB game...

I dont necessarily think that if we dont beat PC by more than Stony Brook did that we are in for trouble against the Seawolves...I mean we could beat PC by 40 and end up in a close game with them, or we could win by 20 or 17 or something and then thrash Stony Brook by 50. Transitive property doesnt work necessarily in sports.

My biggest concern for Saturday; are our QBs healthy???
We win the game with either healthy to go...otherwise it could be a tough go.

This years team seems to be doing a much better job of knocking out opponents early.
From what I recall, the game at presbyterian stayed close until the very end. As did several of the games we were heavy favorites.

I stated this last week, it deserves repeating. The coaching staff is doing a great job of preparing the team, and having them ready to play each game. Let down doesnt seem possible.

I agree with you. I also think this senior class is showing great leadership.

PC's defensive coordinator dismissed today

The Presbyterian College Athletics Department and Head Football Coach Harold Nichols announced today that Tom Evangelista has been dismissed from his position as Defensive Coordinator. The rest of the football staff will absorb his duties for the remainder of the season, with a replacement to be named after the season.

Evangelista was in his third year as Defensive Coordinator with the Blue Hose, hired by Coach Nichols in February of 2009.

this will probably make our defense better even if it is in the middle of the season. Hard to win games when you give up well over 450 a game.

Midseason dismissals don't happen often. There clearly is drama behind the scenes. Not that we really have that much interest in this case.

I just like that a Presbyterian school was employing someone named Evangelista.

we will win this game handily. I like the focus the guys have now. PC is improving though and i give them credit for the way they are building their program.

Looks like the game is on ESPN3 again. I wonder if any FCS team has ever had every single game available on ESPN3 for a year, because I think Liberty is about to, and I'm loving it.

I've seen every game this year, either in person or on ESPN. Thats a first, believe me.

Thank ESPN3 for that replay option too... got busy at work but came back and saw the whole thing.

I was reminded how much I take it for granted when ready Presby's board and seeing their excitement @ being on MASN v. us.

another good read, thx LANG

esp like this from DR:
LANG, quoting Rocco, wrote:This week, we’re very much on a theme of back to basics,” he said. “I really want our players to truly understand the importance of fundamentals, execution and making ourselves hard to beat. When we are winning the turnover battle, what we’re doing is making ourselves hard to beat. When we cut back on penalties, we make ourselves hard to beat. This trend has been legitimate here for three weeks, and I like where it’s at. So I’ve chosen this week, being at home, to really make a push in emphasizing what we have to do down the stretch to finish strong.”

The replay option is pretty awesome. I would have seen about half as many of the games if I had to watch them live (my wife isn't perfect so she doesn't let me watch 30 hours of football every weekend  ). Seriously though, I think I'm super thankful for whoever at LU is responsible for getting these games on ESPN3.

Does anyone know if ESPN3 pays LU for the FSN feed or is it something that Liberty is doing to grow the national audience or maybe a little of both?

I really like how the guys have been totally dialed in every week...I think I mentioned in another post that I really saw the CSU game as a trap game (coming off a big win, facing an opponent that played us tough in their house) and we dominated so Im less concerned going into the Presbyterian and VMI games the next couple weeks...

and I think this message came as a result of the JMU game 01...

Supposedly Liberty is the most watched FCS team when put on ESPN3 and it's not close. That's why we're continually on there.

I always assumed it was the fantastic production value that ESPN doesn't have to pay for. Have you watched any of the other non-ESPN produced stuff on ESPN3? It's bad.

I enjoy it as well. After going to the games here, I like to spend my sunday evenings watching the good parts of the game as they appeared on TV. Really awesome to hear the crowd noise, etc.
