GW had kicked a FG w/ 2 min left, kicked off and Coastal returned the kick for a TD, led by 1. Coastal got a penalty for celebration, and on the ensuing kick from the 15, a 20 yard return coupled with 2 personal fouls on Coastal let GW get the ball on Coastal's 15.

What a crazy finish, rogers3.

* G-W boots a FG with 2:06 to go to take a 23-17 lead.

* CCU's Tre Henderson takes the ensuing kickoff to the house to give Chants a 24-23 lead with 1:53 to go.

* G-W then methodically takes it down & boots a 31-yard FG as time expires to win 26-24!

I happened to tune in to CCU's radio broadcast, right before kicked the FG that gave them the 6 pt lead. What a crazy finish! Should be a reminder to our guys that teams will not lay down for us, and Presby, having doubled up GW last week, will be coming to play.

Were you watching the game? There's nothing "methodical" about GW being gifted with 3 15 yard personal fouls.

nothing really methodical about it. pretty sure GW gained one yard of offense on that drive. penalties before the kick and during the kick put the ball on the 15 yard line.

I think they gained one, then lost 2. I couldn't believe how composed CDB was on the radio. How do you mete out discipline for such mental errors?

I'm happy, but boy do our special teams need work.....still holding out hope we can get to 6-5 by the end of the year. SBU here will be the big hurdle for that to happen. Now that the monkey is off our backs, maybe we can go out and just play ball and play loose.

Nice to stick it to the sea chickens on their homecoming and their big debut of their new live chicken on the sidelines! :D

If you are a Coastal fan, which is worse?
- Losing 62-27 on the road to Liberty at their homecoming game
OR
- Losing 26-24 by a made field goal as the clock expires at your own homecoming the following week to a 1-5 Gardner-Webb team

Thanks for the link, BJ. It helped me to stumble across this pic posted by BoDoyle:

Apparently this dawg led the Chants onto the field recently after CDB's infamous 'Cat hit the screendoor' monologue. I nearly fell out of my seat.

As much as I enjoy Coastal losing, this hurts us. It makes our win last week look not as big and now we have to beat Stony Brook; no three way tie anymore.

Thou dost protest too much methinks (or something like that)...we stomped a ranked team last week. I think that they lost just means that what we did to them had a far reaching effect. It was pretty much expected to be a two horse race in conference this year between us and Stony Brook

Yeah we have to beat SBU but we knew that anyone. Our only saving grace is SBU losing to Coastal next week and then losing @ GW.

Looks like Richmond, W&M will finally drop out of the Top 25... Furman win could prove beneficial down the road also

Did you see what led CCU out on the field last week?
