this would be acceptable. anything short with this schedule and it should be a dissapointment to everyone.....Longwood 1-1 after last seasons embarrassing loss to them.

I can see LU possibly upsetting Winthrop at our place like what happened last year if things go our way other than that no reason to disagree with the above picks. The East Carolina game is the pivotable game for us. If we pulll that off things will look very good.

I never predict anything. We have absolutely no clue how this team will do. Everything thinks Brew and Blair can coexist but no one knows for sure. No one knows how the freshmen will do. I don't expect anything better than 3rd in conference and even third might be tough.

I don't see us much better than .500. Hope I am wrong, but yere are still a lot of unknowns with this team. We still don't know how the chemistry will play in. Is the ball big enough for LB and Brew would be my first one. A lot of new faces.

I am giving those predictions based on the comments and posts on how this team is suppossed to be so good. It is my prediction, but anything less with our easy schedule should be seen as a let down.

Are you on drugs? I'm from North Carolina. In North Carolina, football is just a tune up for basketball. There are just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many questions about this team to make predictions.

How will Brew coexist with LB? How will having two kids impact Brew? How will the freshmen do? There are others I don't want to mention on here but there are questions.

Thank you. Very good questions.....geez, I am called a hater, and I give the team too much credit and everyone thinks I am crazy.....The team will probably be something like .500, but that is terrible then out with you know who.

SJ's predictions are ok...except I predict us losing to East Carolina, and I'm calling the only win in Utah to be against Oral Roberts. I think we'll pull the upset against Winthrop at home again.

I hate to say this, but I have always dreaded the day we play ORU, because based on who they play and who they beat, we will be very fortunate to beat them. We should be able to recruit better kids than they do IMHO. If I am not mistaken they won their conference last year.

I think 3rd or 4th is about right for LU in the reg. season, if for no other reason that it will take the first run through the conference for the new mix to gell.
I look for RD to lead the team at least to the championship game.
However, my stone cold lead pipe lock is that there will be an awful lot of lively debate about RD and the team (which has already started), if for no other reason is that is what we do.

I have to agree with SJ on the point that this team is unpredictable right now. I have to disagree with the quality of the schedule. I think there are some teams that are weak but there are big name teams too. I will say that at this stage of our program a win is a win against division 1 opponents. They are all tough to beat especially on the road. I hope the chemistry is good. No one mentioned however that the main questionmarks are not in the backcourt but in the frontcourt where we were not very good. We bring in Jones (who is still getting in shape), Winters (who has a serious injury and will miss some games) and Alex McLean who looks great right now but we hope that carries over to the season and structure. Again, Manger, you can't judge a team's abilities by watching them in pickup games. We will just have to wait and see. Give them a few games and I will have a better assessment of this team. Then we will have to re-assess them when Brew and Winters get in the mix.

Don't underestimate Lipscomb, they are picked to finish 2nd in their league and lost in OT last year to go to the Big Dance... I hope the Flames do not start conference play with 5 straight L's. I actually think the conference will be softer this year than last season, I could see them finishing 2nd.

Remember, folks. DO NOT PANIC if the team does not play well in the exhibitions (or get too excited if they do). Espcecially against the school formerly known as Atlantic Christian College. The purpose is NOT to win, it is about coach evaluation. Sure, the players want to win, but that is not the ultimate goal in those games.

Killen Em,

on this board no one looks at the composition of the team or who they have beaten, they only look at if they are a team we see on TV all the time. If they are not on TV, we are suppossed to win and win by 100 points. :P :P I will say that Longwood should not be beating us in a given year but I think that should change this season. Although Liberty has never won on that court. I hope this is the year. Killenem you are right about Lipscomb. That is gonna be a tough game for us. I have a feeling Buffalo is still gonna be good too. Their guards were really savy and could shoot last year. They overwhelmed us. Life on the road at this level is tough anyway as I am sure you know.
