Barring some new revelations, I think we have about worn out every angle of this discussion. Perhaps it is time to move on regardless of our positions on the subject until something significant arises.

I agree that the rest of the players on the team shouldn't be punished by our fans based on the decision of the staff. Hopefully this won't be as big of a distraction for the players as it obviously is for the fanbase.

Did I say we should close down the argument? All I suggested is that until we have some more developments that this discussion has pretty well played out. Frankly I hope there are more developments to talk about in this case. But until then, I believe we have covered just about every angle. I'm obviously leaving thread open. I just feel our voices have been heard and now all we are doing is getting ourselves hoarse.

After reading all this, the only thing i think i can add to the discussion is that it seems by the language used in all the press releases by LU is implicit admission of guilt on the part of Asa. So if the 'unknown element' is your argument for reinstating him, it appears to be without solid basis. Either this is another example of terrible PR or he is responsible for everything he is accused of.

Either you agree that he should be allowed back on the team because of the steps he has taken since the arrest, or you don't. Rocco and co. seem to be very clear that they think Asa did screw up bigtime, but should be allowed grace in this particular situation.

Simple answer ... Im sure you explained to him that you've made mistakes also, like the rest of us. And that Liberty has a Christ centered support ministry in place for those that do. Counselors and his LU friends will do all they can to help him make better life choices going forward. He has ask for help..... His coach's care about him..... Pray for them.
