Do you ever play music you used to listen to when your kids are in the car? If I could only remember that christian artist who died in a plane crash in the early 80's I'd be set. Thought his last name was with Green. All I remember was the trials turned to gold song and he had awesome hair.

That's not true. I've worked with them as well.....at a concert that presented the Gospel.

Not sure about that with Skillet. I've heard Jon Cooper give the full gospel at a concert recently.

OH yea, add Pillar: Fire on the inside, Call to Action, for the love of the game, reckless youth, and throwdown

And add Decyfer Down: Ride with me, Crash, Fading,

Interesting. I'm not sure why they wouldn't let us do it. For the record this happened about 2 years ago.

Speaking of which, why are they getting a pass by all of the music critics? They were playing "Who Are You" by The Who (since you asked yes I've seen them in concert). I was wondering what instrument was going to cover the line 'who the f are you' but alas the kettle corn was too tasty to pay much more attention than that.
And since I got started. Yes, music in and of itself is amoral. Music at sporting events, at church, a dance club or a hot date generally is used to elicite an emotional response. The response is amplified, pardon the pun, if the target audience is familiar with the song being played. ROOSTER a see your point but you are misguided. While there are plenty of kids who listen to 'CCM" the vast majority are not very familiar with the groups or songs. Case in point Everyone has heard Don't Stop Believing and can therefore relate to it. Is there a CCM song of the same age that can elicit a similar responses in the crowd?

That's weird. To be fair, the lead singers wife was prego at the time so he was probably used to just saying yes to everything.

It's weird to hear how very few people listen to Christian bands at LU. I've lived on East, The Lynchburg Inn and am now on the Circle and honestly in every hall I've been a part of the majority of the guys have heard and listened to Anberlin, Relient K, Switchfoot, etc. Was it all they listen too? No. I listen to just as much "secular" music as I do "Christian", yet I can guarantee that if LU played some of their music people wouldn't be completely confused as to who it was. Christian music has progressed leaps and bounds in the past 10 or so years and I'm actually finding myself enjoying more of it and same with the guys on any of my halls... Just my two cents

I guess that rules out hearing 'I fought the law and the law won!'

Can we please argue about music instead of something we know nothing about? Just a modest proposal...

Haize, do you think we could possibly play Ringo Starr's "the no-no song"? :D

Only if there is secret information contained when you play the music backwards at a slower speed exonerating the group from any illicit activities undertaken by anyone listening to the song. This includes but is not limited to: driving with a suspended or revoked liscense, underage drinking, or possession of illegal substances, whether they are yours or part of a new Jenny Craig/Richard Simmons weight loss program.
