That was pretty good I must admit!

Anyway we could have used him vs JMU in a big way. I trust that LU is doing the right thing here and I trust them with whatever they do will be fair and makes Asa a better person going forward and that he has a chance to prove himself and go the the NFL and can make an impact. Nice to have him back for the important game this Saturday vs Lehigh.

Also, this is only hearsay; but players are saying that Chapman has been in the locker room bragging about getting back on the team. We are officially just another university......

Isn't my place to speak, but I will...

I know many of you are familiar with the Rose brothers of Amherst County that went to play football at JMU. Well, they were all arrested late last year for an off-campus fight. They were kicked off the team.

Then two weeks ago, their cases were thrown out of court, and they were re-instated.

Just tonight, a George Mason basketball player was suspended and arrested for credit card fraud. Sounds like he has been suspended until the legal process has run its course, as JMU did for the Rose brothers. Allowing a player back on the team before the legal process has completed is dangerous.

You just don't want to start a precedent (or develop a reputation) that Liberty becomes a safe haven for people that get into trouble.

Anyway, I'm just glad this didn't come 36 hours earlier. ;-)

That's been on Asa's twitter since before this incident. A bit of cherry picking, don't ya think?

You're right. I can't believe someone would cherry pick the police records! I'm sure he had other police write ups that were a lot less dramatic!

A u a Pomeranian. What does that even mean? Why do coaches even allow players to have twitter accounts?

This is bull.

I'm absolutely not happy about this.

There's another things I'd like to say, but quite frankly, if I say anymore I'll get into trouble.

I was really hoping for a good outcome with all this but I don't think that we made the right decision here. I am a coach and got a letter this from one of my former player thanking me for taking a hard line on some things. Consequences send a message that is important for the whole team to know about the culture of our team and school. #disappointed

if he's guilty this will cost rocco and barber their jobs, and significantly delay any hope of moving up to fbs. nothing says hypocrite to perspective conferences and the world like a christian school in deep crap with the ncaa over legal issues.

I agree with TTL on this (and considering we tend to run on polar opposites much of the time that is saying something). He is still innocent until PROVEN guilty in a court of law.

Here is the Liberty Way segment in play here:

30 Reprimands + $500 Fine

+ 30 hours Disciplinary Community Service + possible Administrative Withdrawal.
NOTE: For each accumulation of six or more reprimands after 30, an additional $150 fine will be assessed.

Abortion
Assault/sexual assault (minimum two semesters out)
Commission/conviction of any felony
Illegal drugs-association/possession, use/distribution (minimum two semesters out)
Immorality
Involvement with witchcraft, séances or other satanic or demonic activity
Life-threatening behavior or language to others or oneself (immediate removal/exclusion from campus and a minimum of two semesters out)
Non-participation/disruption/non-compliance (possible removal/exclusion from campus)
Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages
Refusal to submit to an Alco-Sensor test and/or drug test as specified by the administration
Spending the night with a person of the opposite sex
Stealing or possession of stolen property (plus financial restitution; minimum two semesters out)
Unauthorized possession/use of weapons

Note what I highlighted...he has NOT been convicted...apparently the vast majority of this board has forgotten the concept of innocent until proven guilty (even our law school friend)...its guilty until proven otherwise to most of you

ridiculous thats all I can say...the justification is so poor. If this is what it means to our athletic leadership to be "big time" I don't know if I want them leading us there....

Bj presumed innocent until proven guilty is different than actually innocent until proven guilty...learn the rules.

Also, court of public opinion is also very important to keeping jobs. Just ask Butch Davis

Have you forgotten that "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" applies to law only? He's either guilty or innocent right now. And nothing Coach Rocco has said has suggested he believes Asa is innocent here.

I have no problem with Asa being in class. I do have a problem with him as a representative of our University.

interesting on the records that he was guilty and paid the fines on Aug 30, 4 days after his arrest. Is that a legal move from his lawyer??
