It's unfortunate that I will not be able to make this game
But i will definitley be ordering this on the ESPN gameplan. I am so psyched for this game and season. It will be MB senior year, so it will be cool to see how he has developed and improved as a QB from last year's season and how hebdoes against ACC competition.

Wonder if theyll take a fan bus down for the game?

I don't see why not. They have done it for the coastal and pebbled stream games as well. It is a regional FBS game. Sounds like a great idea!

well if there is a bus from Lynchburg, its only about 3 hours to the Triangle (Im sure GMTM could verify that for us) so for a 6 PM game time that would probably mean returning to Lynchburg about 12 or 1 AM and probably leaving maybe 7 or 8 AM (maybe 9) to have time to tailgate before the game

Beej, what would people on a bus have to tailgate with? Are they carrying their coolers, tents, and grills on the bus?

Fair point Jon...I had forgotten about that...I guess if youre on the bus theyd include a meal in the tent they brought to road games last year (except the Ball State game)

I live 15 minutes from NCSU and it takes me 2 hours and 20 minutes from my house to the Bill each Saturday. i don't know if the buses will take the same route as i do but i would assume they will (29 to Danville, hang a left on 86 to I 40, east to Raleigh)

when I checked it on google it went on 501 which I guess goes straight to Raleigh and it listed around three hours...course you could take 29 to Greensboro and then take 40 to Raleigh as well although sounds like your way is much faster BigAl

From my time living in Raleigh, the quickest way from lynchburg is 29 south to 86 south to I-40 East to Raleigh. There is a small short cut off 86 that can get you to I-40 as well if anyone wants to know.I can do it in 2:15-2:20 just like what Big Al says.

That’s a connection Big South defensive coordinators will disdain more than Gotham criminals do Batman and Robin.
I'm not convinced that Beej didn't write this article

That does sound like something I would say pretty but I unfortunately cannot take credit for that bit of wit and wisdom...

As for a bus trip down...if it only takes a couple hours, then they could actually leave maybe about 10 and be there in time for lunch, and have plenty of time for pregame fellowship before the gates open in the stadium. the tailgaters (and Im sure there will be some from Liberty) will already be down there no doubt, and if the game is over around 9 the students will be back before curfew (if there are any that go)

I'd be coming from Roanoke, which we take a bunch of backroads to get to 29, but when I used to play ice hockey in Hillsbourgh (which is right outside of Durham), 29, NC 86 to I 40 would be the quickest way.

with a start at 6pm, getting back for curfew could still be an issue. if there's no bus, they should make it an approved late night activity, with your ticket stub, just like they do for coffeehouse.

with curfew being at 12:30 (or 0030 for anyone who thinks in military time) on Saturdays, it could be an issue, but as bigsmooth and BigAl said, the trip can be made in about 2.5 hours. if the game went long then we could see a problem with curfew for any students that made the trip.

That would depend on the RA but to take a lot of the guesswork out of which ones would be cool with it and which ones wouldnt, making it a late night activity as FF30 suggests (especially if there isnt a fan bus for the game) probably would be the best course of action to take

Uh, Beej, every big game in the past three years has been a late night event. It hasn't been a problem since I got to Liberty as long as you had a ticket stub.
