Sam Fuld is awesome. Just saying. And we're 10-5 with Ramirez. Again, just saying

That and this just in: Dan Johnson has struck out once again.

Reports of the Rays demise were greatly exaggerated. :)

This is a solid team. Just need to stay healthy and consistent, those are the keys for the Rays this season.

I'm just impressed how well things have gone lately. Id like to see Kotchman start at 1B until Dan Johnson proves he can even hit a wiffle ball...

Kotchman's ceiling is to be the most average first baseman ever.

DanJo's is to be like Adam Dunn with less power, which isn't that great, but it's still better than Kotchman's.

Kotchman's D is much better than DanJo's, tho.

I'm not saying that Kotchman is a reliable starter by any means. But he's hitting right now and DJ can't... at all.

Maddon hardly ever bases his lineups on what's happening right now. If you pull a guy from the lineup because he's struggling, you are more likely to miss out on the day that his numbers start to balance out.

Johnson is actually striking out less than usual, he's just not walking (which is one of his strengths), and his BABIP is very, very low, lower than his already low standard BABIP. He'll turn it around.

I'm not so optimistic. He's good for walking, that's about it, and even this year he's not doing that.

I'm almost ready to grab somebody from Durham after Kotchman cools down.

Like who? Leslie Anderson is putting up numbers barely better than DanJo's, and he's playing against AAA competition.

Well scratch that idea.

I wish Dan would have at least kept the Safety Dance as his walkup music. It was pretty funny.

Another nice extra-inning, come-from-behind victory for the O's. :D I wish the Birds played Seattle every night, or were in the AL West.

Angels, rangers, and Athletics are pretty good. You forgot that. :D

That's the thing about the Mariners. First one to 2 runs wins! :D

Everything is relative. I'd rather play those three regularly rather than the Yankees, Red Sox and your Rays. Speaking of the Rays, enough revenge already for that season-opening sweep. Nice win by Hellickson tonight.

Haha sad part is I'm not even in town to watch it! I'm stuck here in WV watching the Pirates...

The Rays are 22-7 since their 1-8 start. That's just incredible. Not to mention that we're now 2 games ahead of the Yankees.

I don't know how the rays do it...its too bad people can't/don't support them out there in st pete

they have quickly becoming the model franchise for player development that is for sure

Cider, did you endure last night's excruciatingly painful loss to the Yanks? Fourteen futile innings of trying to get a run across, tying it 1-1 in the 9th before finally succumbing. Our Birds are so close...Gregg blows the save Monday against the Red Sox, now another near miss against the Yankees. This team has to figure out how to win more of these games. So close it's frustrating. :frustrated

Just got back from Camden Yards, where we watched the O's split two games with the Reds.

I even got back to Lynchburg on Sunday to watch the O's take the third game on MASN, and brought home my very own Buck Showalter bobble head doll. I was there for Saturday's game where both teams combined for 9 dingers.

What a great weekend of baseball--and crab cakes!

Those were great games and thumbs up to the crab cakes. It appeared as if there were big crowds for all of 'em. My nephew is a Reds fan and tried to talk me into going, but I didn't plan far enough in advance. Would now love to see the Birds take 2 of 3 against the Cards.

By the way, what's wrong with Matusz?
