In another thread I posted that I didn't see a lot of Big East teams making it to the Sweet 16.
As of right now there are as many teams from Richmond as from the Big East. Hmmmmm

Keep in mind, 2 of them knocked each other out.

Of course AZ hitting the 3 sorta helped their cause as well
Cmon haize, we all know everything is the referees' fault!

I've been following the NCAA tournament since my senior year in high school when Magic and Bird met in the Finals in '79, but I never actually filled out a bracket until this year.

I've got 9 out of 16 teams in the Sweet Sixteen. Is that considered good, bad, or about average? If my math is correct, that's only 56% which sounds like a failing grade to me (darn you, Louisville and Pitt).

I believe the rule says that while the player has 5 seconds to inbound the ball, he only has 4 seconds to call a timeout. Stupid rule IMHO, and my observation is that a violation is usually not called if they ask for time before 5. There is no way you have time to throw the ball in if you ask for time at 4.1 seconds and are turned down.

And you would be wrong. You can call a TO until the violation is called. You must have been listening to Seth Davis!

Actually, he's right......................if this were 20 years ago. It's been quite a while since that rule changed.

A much better argument about a controversial call could be made about the backcourt violation against Syracuse.

Agreed. When I first saw it, I didn't think there was any question about it being O/B but upon further review I think he got the wrong violation. It looked like a travel on replay.
OVerall the offiicating has been great in the tourney. The only "iffy's":
The afore mention 5 second call
And it sounded like Mr Adams would have liked for the offiicials to check the monitor instead of taking the word of the ALT and time keeper at the UNC game. But they did get it right.
The INT foul in the Cincy game. I think it looked a lot worse than it was. This is what happens when two great athletes go up.

Wow, that's insane... when I played basketball in high school I couldn't do that. I was different, I always tried to keep my feet closer to the floor.

I know you're not supposed to do that, but I guess that's why I was the assist leader :D

I know it's just the NIT, but did anyone see highlights of Andrew Goudelock from CofC last night? Kid was pulling up from just inside of halfcourt and draining them. I'm not exaggerating.

Having seen ESPN this morning, I think there are too many guys drunk on the Butler koolaid. They won both their games, by a combined 4 points. That doesn't show me anything.

They went out bad. Unfortunately, I think the Heels go out tonight as well. Bad matchup problems in the backcourt against Marquette. I can't believe the ACC's best shot at an Elite 8 is FSU.

FSU will lose.

I don’t care about UNC/Marquette so I can’t give an opinion.

That was the worst I've seen Duke play in a long time. It was awesome.

Also, first time I got to watch Derrick Williams. Wow, that kid is a stud. Makes me wonder how he averaged less than 20 a game this year, especially in a weak conference. Also also, my next son will be nicknamed "Momo", such a great name.

The experience of running through the tournament last year is all the koolaid you need. They did it once and can do it again.
