I am looking forward to the NIT especially if we host a game. I don't think we have the team to pull an upset this year plus those guys will gain tournament experience.

Checking the site, 4 LUs have an automatic bid based on a regular season championship. That gives further credence to the need to brand Liberty.

I'm just not sure I want Liberty wasting any money on a home game. I'm fine with the season ending now and getting back to work on fundamentals. It's the WNIT? Who cares?

You'd be surprised. Besides the fact that they're the only team that gets to any postseason whatsoever.

You get extra practice time with an extended season.

Potential second round matchup ODU-UVa (with Debbie Ryan resigning after the season) and if LU and South Carolina win itll be their first meeting since the 2002 NCAAs

Do you think UVA will go after LU WHBC?

There are some really good teams in this tournament. Charlotte is a great team that lost to Florida, Duke and Xavier 2X in A-10. The A10 is sevral notches above BSC in RPI and talent. They've also had some impressive wins. They will be hard to beat at home (RPI 59). G-W got blown out last year there in WNIT and G-W only lost 4 games last year. It would be a great confidence booster to sneak out with a win and really see how we compare to this level of talent (the 2nd 64).

Good luck to y'all....we got creamed last year because we quit, plain and simple. Hopefully Green will keep your ladies focused in practice for the game.

I doubt that theyd go after Coach Green. he is pretty well established here and Im also pretty sure that if AD Barber got wind of it he would make it worth his while to stick around til he is 100

Clemson has already tried to lure Coach Green away, I wouldn't be surprised if UVA did the same. Hopefully he won't go.

As for Charlotte, they're good, but beatable. We've had success against Xavier and other A-10 members in the past, and chances are if we play up to the level of talent that's on our team we'd be a competitor for the A-10 title.

We beat Xavier when Special Jennings (PG) and Amber Harris (6'5") and Ta'shia Phillips (6'6") were freshmen. They are seniors now an ranked 6-7 in the country. This year we would have been hard pressed to finish in the middle of the pack. Even Duquesne (WNIT) was able to beat Ohio State when they were ranked 14th. We beat LaSalle. They and Rhode Island were at the bottom of the league. Temple, Xavier, Richmond, Dayton, Charlotte, St Joseph's and St. Bonaventure have better talent and probably Duquesne as well. If we were in the A 10 we would recruit better.

It is subject to debate whether Green was actually offered the Clemson job or not, but I think I can say with some confidence that it was more attractive/tempting to him to go back to his roots in South Carolina than to move another hour up 29 to Charlottesville.

I'm pretty sure coach Green is a "lifer", although I'm not sure that's a good thing either. I know some will consider it borderline blasphemy, but at least to some degree this year's almost total lack of discipline on the offensive end falls squarely on him as the HC. He needs to understand that these things really do need to be fixed. You can't just keep saying we will make up for it by being even better on the boards and on defense.

I hope Coach is here forever. I agree with your last comment. I also wonder if it's time to bring in new asst coaches to break up th status quo. Someone who can address these shortcomings specifically. I would like us to upgrade our guard play - either with recruits, Jucos, or improving what we have. In re: to D we give up too many open look 3s which speaks to a general lack of quickness. I would love to have 1 or 2 Kendall Shepherds or DaNaria Erwin Spencer or twins like the Hudsons. Just think how good we can be and the balance we would have. Each of those players I mention have a + Asst/TO ratio. Look at the Charlotte PG and look how great ger ASST/TO ratio is.

I hope Green does get offered the UVA job and I hope he accepts it. Nothing against the guy, but we've plateaued.

i think change is needed too..

outrebounding is only going to get you so far. The guards he's been bringing has been lacking athleticism. Just look at the TOs. schools like UCONN and Stanford dont fill their team up with 6'4 6'5 girls.

They fill them up with athletic wings and guards. something he needs to bring in.

look at Reaves he's bringing in athletes and it's only going to cause liberty problems

he brought in 3 star 89 rated wing
Super-athletic and energitic, very active on both ends of the floor, can get to the basket with one dribble from the wing and she is very effective in transition.

I can say with absolute certainty that our HWBC will not be in C'ville. More likely you will see
Dawn Staley - South Carolina
Tonya Cardoza - Temple
Tim Taylor - UVA Associate Head Coach
Kenny Brooks - JMU
Coach G - Texas (Former Duke)
Kevin McGuff - Xavier
????? - Ast at UCONN.

Now the school down the road in Blacksburg........ :?:
