So I don't think this is related to the other post. I came home this weekend from Lu to be consumed with smoke from a local forest fire. I was wondering (i heard through the grapevine) that there was a fire on the mountain tonight. does any one know how bad it is?

I live in Liberty Ridge and Candler's Mtn. Road is blocked off from the Wingate to our Subdivision. Anyone leaving Liberty Ridge is forced to take Candler's Mtn. to Sunnymeade.

8:30 p.m. update:

Police have closed Candlers Mountain Road near U.S. 460 and the Wingate hotel this evening because of a brush fire.

I couldnt see anything from down by DeMoss so I figured it was a little further up the mountain than could be seen from campus

at 8:30 it looked like the entire side of one of the mountains was burned....it was just glowing orange, no real blaze. So sad. Luckily I dont think it's going to get to close to the dorm's but I havent heard anything official on that. This was right around the intramural fields and paintball.

Oh and it seems to be coming from the high winds causing the power lines to arc
