More than one announcer has been fired for blatently criticizing officials. He was calling the guy out by name and accusing him of both incompetence and bias. I would stop short of saying he should be fired, but he should be called on the carpet and given boundaries. He was extremely unprofessional tonight. It's a shame too, because the guy is definately good when he sticks to calling the game.

So when the ref called Kierre for the tech when Kierre is 6'1" and can barely dunk, what should Matt have said? "Ghee golly, I really think the refs might have made a mistake on that call. Kierre is a little fella and had to hold on so he wouldn't fall with his momentum carrying him under the basket"?

Matt does the audio, people listen to the game, he has to describe it so they know it was a bad call. SJ, you can ask Matt, I used to be all over him and gave him tons of crap for a LONG time, I am not his most ardent supporter, but I strongly believe he would be different if he was just announcing for the video and not people only listening and not able to watch.

First of all, CCU deserved to win tonight. LU couldn't hold onto the ball and made an incredible amount of dumb mistakes. Coastal took full advantage of those mistakes and won the game. No argument there.

What I am talking about is when he said something like "There's another bad call by the officials. Ooooo, can you guess which one called it? It looks like he's trying to be the story tonight."

I guarantee that everyone on here would be upset if Scar said something like that, but of course he would never do that because he actually is a great announcer.

You still didn't answer my question, but ok. He didn't come close to touching the backboard. He barely dunked over the front edge of the rim. He's 6'1" at best SJ. He can't dunk and then keep going and slap the board.

Correct, noone was underneath him, but as you stated he would have fallen down b/c of his momentum so he held onto the front edge of the rim (nowhere near the backboard sj) and then let go. Maybe the refs thought something would get out of hand since we are rivals and 1-2 in the standings, I don't know. It was a ticky-tack foul either way. Those refs don't deserve to be ACC-level IMO.
