BACK OFF PEOPLE!!! He's got a lot on his plate right now.

This is the time FBS programs start to look for new coaches and he has to choose whether to stick with only looking at FCS programs. It's a tough and stressful time...

And this at the same time of consulting for many high level basketball coaches...

I'm just glad that he still talks to us little people here and take the time to do so. An angry BJ is better than no BJ at all. (That's what she said)

Really its the end of the semester...Im working on my own podcast, dealing with the fact that I wish I could be with my family right now (many of you know what Ive been through in that regard the last couple years), possibly changing degree programs, trying to find a more permanent job (coaching or otherwise)...its just a lot on my mind right now

Great update on Jernell and explanation why there are still concerns he may not be here next season ... and you definitely need to watch the video.

Valencia Addison makes final adjustments to Jernell's neck brace at their home in Immokalee. Although he believes doctors will eventually clear him to play football again, Hughes is going to concentrate on only playing basketball from now on.
Jernell Hughes, Immokalee basketball player comes back from neck injury

IMMOKALEE — Three years ago, Immokalee's Jernell Hughes never would have imagined he'd blossom into a star on the basketball court. He dreamed of playing big-time college athletics, sure, but he always dreamed it would be on the football field.

“I wanted to go to college for football,” Hughes said. “I never thought about playing basketball --I was too focused on football.”

One play on the gridiron as a Pop Warner player changed all that. A neck injury in 2007 that easily could have confined him to a wheelchair took away Hughes' football dreams and changed the course of his life.

If you read the article Sly posted you'll see his heart is still here. And according to his facebook, he's "still wit Liberty."

I think it's more a question on whether or not he'll qualify academically.

According to a newspaper down there, he's yet to get an acceptable score on the SAT or ACT.

Combined with everything else, and the fact he's at FGCU, I don't think we'll miss him.

Yeah judging by the way he's been acting I don't think he would have lasted here very long...

Also, isn't FGSU the school that banned Christmas a few years ago?
