Yup.

Just what I was getting ready to post, atleast some of you wore a red hat tonight, which added to the G W look... the idea is Unity not division. AT LEAST wear a School color (dark blue). and you guys didn't really push along the crowd tonight.

My dorm was the section getting any cheers started. We sit on the far end from the boo box and all wear red. I love the boo box bc they have great ideas like the paper thing but when I hear them say they lead the cheers I roll my eyes and think no you don't my dorm starts them and you guys catch on.

Other than that I love the boo box and want them to stick around but come on. WEAR RED! You can still be loud in red and "lead" the student section. We need to be a sea of red and have the furnace rocking. Not look like a bunch of CCU fans or in the case of tonight GWU fans.

And I agree of they don't fix the red thing the rest of the student body may turn on them. I had countless people come up an ask why they were wearing black and when I told them they said that's stupid they should wear red.

All the students affiliate them with Dorm 8 because of the black t-shirts, so naturally everyone can't stand them.

I mentioned this in the UNCA game thread....at the end of the day it would be nice if you guys wore red....but it truly doesnt matter and if its the difference between all of you guys coming and only some of you, then wear the LU teal (CCU look alike) band t-shirts for all I care...much rather just have you in attendance.

Also some of the examples given of schools wearing different colors for uniforms is 99% still in the school branding....it's just using a secondary color rather than a primary. Black is not in LU's branding....neither is the grey or some of the other things we've seen on Uni's and team travel suits for quite some time. That's why I wouldnt even mention a student group that is not following the red protocol.....of the top 1000 biggest things to tackle at Liberty University I think it made the list at 997 :D

By the way im from dorm 8 and if it were not for us tonight the place would have been silent half the time. But I do agree the black thing could lead to them getting some hate bc students think they are from d8 so just yet another reason they should wear red. We at dorm 8 would not like the hate we "deserve" to be sent to other people. We are very selfish. (Sarcasim included in this post)

I watched it on TV and if it weren't for the shirts I couldn't even tell you all were there.

I have a great name for this group! Just like I came up with Sparky years ago and I got lambasted on this board, it ended up being a good idea. I admit it is derivative of Sparty from Michigan State. My wife is from East Lansing and I used to visit the Breslin Center and visit with coach Tom Crean and Tom Izzo back in the day so I feel a slight kinship to that program. My idea for this group's name is also derivative of their environment. They have the Izzone in the Breslin Center. How about:

Dale's Layer

I think it could work...Think about it. I'll take my credit on the air like I did for the Sparky idea LOL.

As much as it pains me I think SCAR has a winner!!! Very Brandable, very catchy.
Just think if we would have had "The McKrazies" a few years ago. (Yes I went there and yes I think its funny)
And just to keep the thought string going:
Dunton's Dragoons
Hankey's Horde
Meyers Minions
Gibby's Gobblers
Manley's Maniac's

boobox wrote:Hey guys whats going on me and another guy on my dorm run the boo box and want to only support the guys on the basketball team. We aren't trying to be selfish and have any attention on us we just want to be able stand out from the rest of the student body so they know who to look at and who to follow when it comes to chants and when it comes to things that we do such as the newspapers, and the throwing of the shredded paper, etc... Any way im open to suggestions and comments but I just dont want people to come at me hostile and rude because in the end out intentions for the boo box are purely for the players we are from the dorm that the basketball players live on and want to support them and get all of LU out to be loud because as we all know the 6th man is sometimes the reason games get won.
There seems to be a large amount of run-on sentences in the paragraph... Study

Jbock I don't know if you were confused by my post or what but the boo box (all the guys in black) are not associated at all with us at dorm 8. People have asked me why us dorm 8 guys don't wear black to the game and I always say that draws attention to us and not the team. And the team should always have the attention at the games.

Also if it were not for dorm 8 the game would have been silent. We always sit in the section closest to were the players run out and have normally quite a big crowd. We always are always in RED.

First off, This is my first official post after lurking around here for about a year.

Anywho,
First thing my girlfriend noticed when arriving at the GWU game was "Are all those people in black Gardner Webb fans".

I'm glad they're into the games and all, I just don't get the name and the black shirts. I mean, do 100 people in black shirts really "scare" the opposition. Maybe at the NAIA level...

But yeah, they won't come back here.

Doesn't translate to other sports. I don't like naming a student section after a person who could be gone at any time. We're supporters of the school, not just the coach. Whatever we name a fan section should be able to translate to all sports.
