man, they weren't kidding around when it comes to remodeling. They tore it down to the studs and are making it a LOT bigger. The woman running the cash register in the Exxon across the street has a theory that it's going to be a Taco Bell plus something else. She didn't know what but the obvious answer is Pizza Hut. (the only other options are KFC or LJS, both are already within an eighth of a mile)

Most of the Taco Bells down here are combined with Pizza Huts. It makes a great deal of sense from a franchisee perspective and increases overall traffic for vehicles who have tough time getting everybody in the backseat to agree on anything.

It also makes sense because there is only one Pizza Hut left in Lynchburg (actually in Forest), and it isn't even dine-in.

That's what I thought. The only legit Pizza Hut left is in the Mad Heights.

pizza hut/taco bell isn't as common as KFC taco bell down here in GA either one is a money combo if you ask me.

Just kidding. I haven't eaten at Taco Bell since I lost nearly 100 pounds, but when I read this post, I had to "run for the border!"

Anyway: I thought the same thing about the pizza hut thing, but when I stopped at the Forest Taco Bell, I met a Wards Road Manager who has been temporarily reassigned. He informed me that the reason for the remodel is a leaking roof. Unfortunately, the site is too small to add much space, so there will be no pizza hut.
