An interesting stat heading into this game is that we are 27th nationally in rebounds per game right now according to our ESPN page. This is amazing considering the height of the lineup we run out there. These guys just hussle and don't give up on loose balls.

But we have a midget team! How do we even compete!?!?!?!

Grow up or get a job or something...i never said that. I said we are undersized. That fact still hasn't changed. As i said then it doesn't mean you can't compete and overcome that. Our lineup is 6-6 and under, that is fine because we are making it work.

In fairness to Jenkins, our current starting front line is definatly on the short side. Early on we certainly thought we would be seeing more of Carter and JVP.

I'd love to have that Wilmington game back. Oh well, it's all a process. This will be a good test for us though. I don't expect to win, but I do expect it to be close and not decided until the last 5 minutes. And I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see us win.

I'm hoping to pull one of these next 2 out.

A split would indeed be nice. I'd say W&M is the more likely win, but I believe we can hang with GMU. Only 2 games in the next 2 weeks will give the guys time to rest, study and get in some quality practices.

A lot of missed shots will do that.

That has a lot to do with it. We're pitiful shooting the ball.

I read on the WU board how they had out-rebounded us by double digits in each of our match-ups over the past 3-4 games. It was nice to see Liberty come out ahead in the stat sheet there.

They missed pretty much the same percentage of shots we did in the Winthrop game. We just hit the boards harder.

Bottom line is we are a good rebounding team. Our PG is the best rebounding PG in the conference. Our PF is the best rebounder in the conference regardless of position. Everyone else holds their own just fine.

We won't lose a game this year because of defense or rebounding. When was the last time we could say that?

You should check your stats before posting something like this.

We're 26th in the NATION in rebounding margin per game.

Rebounding margin is a much more meaningful statistic. I'm sure VMI is very high on that total rebounds list, but like a lot of their stats it's a product of their style.

I do appreciate you attempting to add to the discussion. Maybe we can turn our focus to this statistic.

I thought your backhanded response was "we get more rebounds because there's a ton of missed shots in the games we play"

When the truth is that we're just a really good rebounding team.

I thought you were continuing to harp on your point by quoting those posts.

We're one of the best in the nation at outrebounding our opponents. That would go against what I thought you were trying to say.

Very much so.

Anyways, look forward to seeing that this team is made of on Saturday. Really surprised UNCA lost, I thought they would be a good team this year. Although obviously you can't judge on one game.

Well, Loyola is not exactly an impressive team so this gives me a little bit more hope.
