It's the humidity that will get you in Houston! Good grief, I lived in Charleston, SC, for a few years and spent a few summer vacations in Savannah, GA...still nothing compared to a summer in Houston.

Try Tampa, Fl for humidity. Grew up there, step outside and you can start sweating without taking a step.

Sounds like my many summers in Oxford, Mississippi: you'd get soaking wet just walking to your mailbox.

I spent the summer of 09 in Biloxi and the humidity there makes the humidity in Tampa look like nothing....it was absolutely miserable...

It gets just as hot in NYC in July as it does in Houston but we are better air conditioned.

If you need to go to the grocery store, I suggest going today. They're calling for snow on Thursday, which means everyone will be there tomorrow night.

It was in the mid 20's here last night with the windchill around 15 here in Central Florida. Their calling for the same forecast tonight, but it supposed to warm up to the 80's by the end of the week, so I can't complain much. This has been the coldest though this early in the winter season in almost 20 years. I'm dreading what January is going to bring. Where is Al Gore when you need him? Probably out replacing the roof to the Metrodome

I will take a windchill of 15 over -6 any day.

The low here in NC was 14 degree this morning and that is what it is going to be tomorrow also. One of my co workers who lives in Portland ME, the low there this morning was 25 degrees. Yipes!

Then you haven't spent much time outside in negative temps.

no..I have...lived in maine for over 4 years...What I meant by that statement is anything under 20 is simply too cold, whether its 19 or -6. Its still too cold...

It's the new blue screen of death.

My kids are jealous that their Virginia cousins are going to get this snow and they have to settle for sunny in the 70s here in Houston. I can't say I agree with them.
