So, who gets in as an all American. Bevins? Brown? Summers?

I say Bevins, but not sure on the other 2

I suggest that Summers is most likely to have a shot at 1st team with Mike & Matt right behind them.

I just wasn't sure if missing the stats from the last game hurts Summers.

If the voters look at how he ended the season as well as the length of the kicks he missed early, I think Matt has a chance to repeat. Most of them probably won't.

SID's say he missed 7 FG's

1 against St. Francis
2 against BSU
1 against RMU
1 against JMU
1 against SSU
1 against CSU

then 13 straight FG's made since the CSU game.

It is 7. The link is to last year's stats. This year, he was 20-27 on FGs and 45-46 on PATs. Still an excellent season, especially after a slow start. Once he got it going, he was absolutely crushing the ball!

And he should be in contention for national honors. Certainly for Big South honors.

Didn't see anybody better in the BSC. I can't imagine too many, if any, better in the country.

Lang does a nice write up about Bevins' All American status:
LU placekicker Bevins a repeat All-American
By Chris Lang
Published: December 15, 2010
...The junior made a few tweaks to his delivery and got back on track. He missed a 38-yarder against Savannah State in the season’s fifth game but was nearly perfect after that, nailing 14 of his last 15 kicks. Twice in his last three games, he hit four field goals, and he knocked in a season-long 52 yarder at Coastal Carolina on Nov. 13.

By the end of the year, he was the Football Championship Subdivision’s top scoring kicker, finishing with 105 points. He led the country with 1.82 made field goals per game. Despite the rough start, Bevins repeated as an All-American, earning the honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Bevins, a junior from Newport News, has rewritten Liberty’s kicking records. He’s the program’s all-time leader with 54 field goals and 268 points scored.

Bevins was one of four players to earn repeat Walter Camp All-America numbers, joining Villanova offensive lineman Ben Ijalana, Eastern Washington linebacker J.C. Sherritt and Appalachian State defensive back Mark LeGree.
