By now, everyone knows about Devon Brown. The former Waynesboro High standout hit the game-winning shot in last year’s Big South tournament, propelling Liberty to the NCAA tournament, and she enters the season having earned preseason conference player of the year honors.
But to say that Brown is a one-woman team would be inaccurate, and as Liberty opens the season today at the Wolfpack Invitational at North Carolina State against Creighton, the Flames have the sort of depth that will make it easier to survive should Brown miss some time due to injury.
And unfortunately, that’s a real possibility.
