you could post "best wishes to continued good health" and then be told how arrogant and condescending you are.
so much for talking football.
the same crap we hear everywhere else- since we're Christian we should shut our mouths and be doormats. When we lose, we're a joke; just some stupid religious school. If we win (or are just proud of the teams), we are arrogant @#$%^ who are war-mongering right wing fanatics who hate gays and modern science.
Being a Christian has nothing to do with the conversation going on over @ bluehosesports. It started when an LU'er posted this comment:
Hey guys. Congrats on the win this past Saturday as it was a long time coming. I’m just glad I don’t have to hear “they haven’t won since ’08 against Liberty” anymore. We aren’t ranked #17 anymore. We’re #12 in the coaches poll and #16 in TSN’s poll. When we played you in 08 we were #14.
There’s no way we take you lightly. With a bye week, your win, and us losing the last time we came down there (ruining our chance at the playoffs) we will be ready to play. No doubt about that.
Hope you guys enjoy #10 Mike Brown and #1 Chris Summers. Our QB and WR. There’s a good chance both of them will be drafted in 2 years. Here’s their stats thus far:
QB Mike Brown 137/212 1856 yards, 17 TDs, 397 rushing yards 4 rushing TDs
WR Chris Summers 54 receptions, 753 yards, 12 TDs.
They’re both Juniors and when they finish their careers at LU they will be remembered as the best QB/WR combo we’ve ever had. Summers will rewrite our receiving record book barring any significant injuries.
We love to throw the ball. Our run game has been a disappointment this year but they’ve improved the past few weeks.
Our Defense is solid with a few play makers. If you’re at the game get a good look at #98 NG Asa Chapman. Kid is huge, close to 400 pounds and an all-conference performer.
to which some of us thought the little "hope you guys enjoy #10 Mike Brown and #1 Chris Summers," the fact that you just had to correct the ranking, and mention that Asa was 400 lbs, seemed a little condescending and "smack-ish."
It was really not a big deal. If you were talking smack or being whatever it is you think we thought you were being thats OK - just don't try and act like you were "just coming to talk football" and then play the we-always-get-picked-on-because-we're-Christians card when we say something back.
We're a jovial group over at bluehosesports - gosh we'd have to be after 2 years of losing and we always talk ball. Don't take it personal - if you did, I apologize.
Now, here's to PC beating #12 Liberty!
