The price point we are throwing out is so low because the trip would be subsidized, somewhat like the Stony Brook trip was last year but a different source. I need to emphasize that this is by no means a done deal. At the moment we are just seeing what the interest is. I would say so far that it is substantial.

Mike, your enthusiasm is ALWAYS appreciated, but I think you're getting a little ahead of the game. There are no reservations yet. If this ends up happening, that will be a seperate process. For now, we just want those who are seriously interested to post it here. If there are some who go to the facebook page but aren't members of this board, there's no time like the present to join.

I'm bumping this thread because it's only 4 weeks away now, and although we had really good early interest, I'm not sure it's enough for the powers that be to pull the trigger yet. Keep in mind that it's not a done deal, and what we are looking for right now is a count of those who are pretty much sure they would go if the low cost of $10-15 were available, and also whether you are a student or non-student.

PS, if a mod/or administrator could make this a sticky, it will be easier to keep up with.

I really can't believe this even requires a second thought. This is a great deal on a trip that could potentially provide memories for a lifetime. If I were in Virginia, I'd have the Sly Fox clan all lined up to go.

Waiting to hear back. To be honest, I think we may need more committments from non-students if we are going to have that opportunity. I don't think there is any doubt that once the word goes out by other channels such as convo or Flames Club email we will have plenty of students interested to fill one or more buses.

This is going through the school. They are setting it up. Almost everything has been decided, but I need the go-ahead before I can post details. Looks like signup is going to be through a portal on the school's website. Total cost will be a bit higher than the number we threw out, but still an amazing bargain. (CCU charges $15 for the tickets).

Not that I was surprised, but one thing I have discovered in the last 24 hours is that when our chancellor says to make something happen, a lot of people go to work on it.
