We need a more productive QB
Really?? In 4 games Mike has 50 rushing attempts for 207 yards and a TD. He's 86 of 132 passing for 1,084 yards and 8 TDs. Yeah, he's had 5 INTs, but you can't expect your first year starter--or any player for that matter-- to be perfect in every aspect of the game. There is always room for improvement and I'm sure the offense as a whole will continue to improve as the season goes on.
Tommy Beecher only put up 1700 yards all season last year, so I think passing wise, Mike is off to a good start. We had a MUCH better running game last year, and it makes a difference. However, I think having a QB that can help out the offense with his feet, and turn broken plays into first downs should be considered productive. If there was a better option at QB on the roster, I'm pretty sure that they would be starting.
What I think we need is a more productive offense as a whole. A more productive OL, a more productive running game, and better play calling. The defense is hit or miss so far this season. The guys have one more week to figure some things out before we get into conference play, so hopefully we'll see some improvements.
