Because we obviously will need 60k seats when we join the SEC in 2014

JMU and LU in the same conference? To me that would be a dream come true I'd happily travel to harrisonburg every other year. MUCH better than watching a CONFERENCE game on t.v. because it's a 6 hour drive away...

I love that summary, SumItUp.

As for the comments about being able to add a mid-deck on the student side between seasons, I think we have seen firsthand how that can be done despite major weather delays this year. If it weren't for the massive Luxury Suites/Media Tower we would have been good to go this year. That concrete can go up rather rapidly.

And yes, a top deck could go seamlessly around our new tower on the west side. An architect could have a blast working wwith what we have put in place. And I am sure that was part of the consideration when these current plans were drawn up.

The exterior is almost done. I saw them working on the top of the right hand tower (toward the south end of the stadium). Once the tops are done and the roof is in place they can focus on the interior over the next few weeks

Getting the opportunity to watch this thing go up like I have has always had me excited for the chance to be there with thousands of red clad, crazy passionate and downright awesome Flames fans. Since I was a kid I've just always been fascinated by the way that plans are laid out and then the finished product looks almost exactly like the renderings. I know this is common today and it's nothing to get excited about, but to me there's always just something special about seeing massive construction projects completed and looking at just how close the initial renderings would be. That being said, it stinks the first game had to be moved but trust me, doing it right and getting it built corretly is worth missing one game. Just look at the dorms on East that were thrown up to beat the deadline and you see the downfall of rushing construction.
