Could have done without Scarlett Johansson, hopefully she won't ruin the movie for me.

I'm not linking to the source because the comment section was a tad over the top, but....
Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures and former Walden Media co-founder Cary Granat are working on "In the Beginning," a 3D telling of the creation story from The Book of Genesis.

The $30 million film will focus on God taking one week to create the world, starting with creating light on the first day and culminating with Adam and Even on the sixth, before resting on day seven.

The project will try to attract family and faith-based audiences, but the big question will be regarding the casting. Who will play God and what race will Adam and Eve be?

David Cunningham will be directing from a script by John Fusco (Hidalgo). The plan right now is to put together a pitch (with FX visuals) in hopes of getting a green light. Stay tuned.
I have a feeling this could go very, very wrong. But, who knows, it depends on who gets their hands on it.

In the other movie thread I made fun of the new Tron based on the trailer that was out there. I saw Alice in Wonderland this past week and there was a 3D preview of Tron and it was freaking awesome looking. There remains a possibility, however, that it could be too speed racery.

Saw Ghostwriter last night. GREAT movie until the end. it was a very complicated plot. kept me guessing. however the end could have been written by a 4 year old. completely ruined the movie for me.

It's a looong way off, but has anyone heard anything about this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1160419/

They're making a Dune remake. This may make every sci-fi fanboy's dream come true. One of the most epic science fiction stories ever written.

So is UFC turning into WWE? Seems to me that Rampage is going to ruin a decent looking movie.

Man, I had to pull this thread from the bottom of the heap. There's nothing to talk about, hasn't anyone seen any movies lately?

A-team - loved it! If you liked the original series and know what you going to see ( over the top action) it was a blast to relive the thought of the A-team with a modern take.

Book of Eli - Thought this was an original themed great movie. I haven't heard many bad comments from those who have seen it. It will leave you thinking at lot after it ends.

Robin Hood - A "B" version of Gladiator type story. Great character developement, nothing over the top but it doesn't blow you away.

How to Train Your Dragon - for a kids movie this was great. I was not bored and enjoyed it.

Grown Ups - Typical Sandler movie, it was funny ( sometimes so stupid is was funny) and a few laughs is good for everyone these days. Its not going to make you think deeply about much but it does remind us of all the distractions in life and getting back to just being outdoors.

Inception - I will be seeing this on opening night and can't wait!

I took my kids to see How to Train Your Dragon last week. I only got to see a few parts (my son didn't want to be in there), but what I did see was pretty good. Some people thought it was supposed to be some allegory about Muslims, but if you don't know that, it's a good movie.

Ed Norton has been told to take a hike and will not be playing the Hulk for the Avengers movie. The more I think about the Avengers movie with all those characters/actors, the more I think it has the potential to be epic. Hopefully it is, and not just another X-Men movie.

From Roger Ebert about Inception
The story can either be told in a few sentences, or not told at all. Here is a movie immune to spoilers: If you knew how it ended, that would tell you nothing unless you knew how it got there. And telling you how it got there would produce bafflement. The movie is all about process, about fighting our way through enveloping sheets of reality and dream, reality within dreams, dreams without reality. It's a breathtaking juggling act, and Nolan may have considered his "Memento" (2000) a warm-up
The movies often seem to come from the recycling bin these days: Sequels, remakes, franchises. "Inception" does a difficult thing. It is wholly original, cut from new cloth, and yet structured with action movie basics so it feels like it makes more sense than (quite possibly) it does. I thought there was a hole in "Memento:" How does a man with short-term memory loss remember he has short-term memory loss? Maybe there's a hole in "Inception" too, but I can't find it. Christopher Nolan reinvented "Batman." This time he isn't reinventing anything. Yet few directors will attempt to recycle "Inception." I think when Nolan left the labyrinth, he threw away the map.

I wasn't a huge fan of Memento but it was a pretty fun movie. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go see Inception tomorrow or Saturday.

If it is even close to being as good as Memento, it will be a solid movie. The wife and I will be seeing Inception this weekend.

I watched Inception last night, and I have to say that it was amazing. Christopher Nolan did a fantastic job as director (and writer). It's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

Just got back from watching Inception with the wife. Excellent film. Lots of twists and turns. It is a bit long but never drags. I would highly recommend seeing it. Kinda regret not shelling out the extra cash to see it in IMAX.

I saw it on Saturday night. I think it's a top 5 movie for me (Although I'd have a hard time compiling such a list). Definitely the best of the last 10 years and maybe more, but it'd need repeat viewings and time before it would get promoted. I'd like to see it again to try to catch a couple of things I missed. But I'd say 99% is easily followed if you're paying attention, which is a nice change from other complex "maze" plot movies.

I think its safe to say that anything Christopher Nolan puts out is going to be a must see if it wasn't for you before this movie...

Since 2005 he has Directed, Written and Produced:

Batman Begins
The Prestige
The Dark Knight
Inception

I also found it interesting how he brought Alfred ( Michael Caine ) and Scarecrow ( Cillian Murphy) from Batman Begins and put them in Inception.

Also based on her previous movies Ellen Page ( Juno, Whip It ) would not have sprung into my mind as great for the role in Inception but i was pleasantly suprised by her performance.

Add Insomnia and Memento to his Since 2000 directorial list. Insomnia was solid but nothing spectacular, but Memento was really good. I've liked all of his moves I have seen (haven't seen the prestige or his first movie - Following).

Add to my list one I had no idea about until 5 minutes ago, but apparently they are remaking Red Dawn. I was just thinking id love to watch this movie again with some of the guys in my youth group, and now this, freaking sweet.

I never could get past how he could remember that he has no memory in memento.
