I contacted the Riddell rep (I sent a PM to bozlady asking for the rep's name and contact info) and this is what he replied:
"Mini helmets with all the LU logos are 18.00. There is a minimum of 12 helmets to do an order. Also freight is approx. $25.00. It takes about 3 weeks to do an order. A credit card would work for payment. Just let me know how you want to precede."

With a minumum order of 12 and freight factored in, each mini-helmet would cost about $20. If any of you want to join me in an order, send me a PM. If I get a decent response, I will place the order and use my credit card. I'll have them shipped to me, then I'll bring them to the first game on 9/4, and those whose respond via PM can pay me then.

I'm in on a helmet. Sad that we have to go and do this ourselves as the bookstore doesn't carry these. The price seems reasonable, but then again when you tack on the bookstores likely 50% profit margin and sell them for $40, I can see why they wouldn't sell.

I've heard that the Cracker Barrel accross LU has mini helmets for UVA, VT, AND LU!!

So if you want a LU mini helmet already made, you might try looking there. It's just what I've heard, I have not confirmed this.

Anyone confirmed this about Cracker Barrel?

I called the cracker barrel over the phone and spoke to a waitress and she did not seem very intelligent to begin with. Anyways, she checked over for me over the phone and she said that they did not see LU mini helemts. Drat! I wish i was able to check in person but I am all the out here in California. Ibwish someone could check in person if there are
some there.

No...the Cracker Barrel does NOT have min-helmets of any kind. They have some nice VA Tech stuff, including a replica helmet. The only LU things they have are one style of hat for $19.99 and and one T-shirt. A source was apparently wrong!

I know at least 12 people that would buy these. I even spoke to the Barnes and Noble manager about this. I let her know whomever is ordering there apparel and accessories is missing out on A LOT of money by not ordering popular items i.e. real football jerseys, mini helmets, nike hats..... Good news folks, unfortunately not in time for Christmas though. We are in the middle of talking with a company who has agreed to take on this task and are near the end of finalizing all the details. The plan is to have not only a Liberty Flames mini-helmet but also a mini-helmet pencil caddy. I've already seen the sample pictures and they are awesome! I can't wait to get mine. So, once we have the order form from the company we're working with, we'll post it. Should be soon I hope.

Will it be the white or blue helmet bozlady? I will buy one of each if both are available.

Believe it or not but we started working with this company just before the white helmets made their debut. So, unfortunately, it won't be the white helmets but I'm sure they'll be made available some time in the not so distant future.

I'm guessing they didn't buy the new helmets for just one game .... but they can certainly be repainted. I'm with you, SumItUp. But I get the feeling the athletic department rather enjoys keeping us guessing.
