I am glad to be on board!

I was born and raised in Virginia but have lived south of the border (North Carolina) for 20 years.

My son will be a freshman at LU in the fall and I am very excited about that fact. I myself am finishing up some degree work at LU and will be taking a final class on campus in the winter.

I have been to LU many times over the years -- for ballgames and various other events (my oldest son plays club hockey at N.C. State and my youngest has been to LU's baseball camp a couple of times). I have grown to love the place and have always admired what LU stands for. My wife and I enjoy visiting Thomas Road when we get the chance.

I look forward to following the Flames and will be there when I can!

As you might guess, my name is Justin, and I'm an LU Online student living in Northern Virginia. My family travels to Lynchburg with some regularity, and we're hoping to move there sometime soon. I've been lurking here for several years, and, for the most part, I won't be posting too often.

Hey, I'm a Junior here at LU and an RA. I'm double majoring in Youth and ALOM with a minor in coaching. Grew up real big on football in Prattville, Alabama. PHS was ranked #1 in the nation last year, so that is somewhat of my claim to fame. Made All-State my senior year, but after a knee surgery and a calling to the ministry decided to give up my pursuits of college football. Huge Bama fan, but doing all I can to be active with the SFC and athletic department to help the environment of gamedays at LU, especially for football. Being from SEC country it kills me not being in an SEC environment on gameday, so that is a huge goal of mine, to be part of getting LU to that type of environment. For the most part I'll be posting here often.

Hello to all!

My name is Lawrence and I'm from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I recently completed my degree through LUO. I really enjoyed my time at commencement and look forward to the upcoming football season. Similar to the user that posted above me, I'm a big fan of the University of Alabama. But unlike a lot of people I know, there is some great football being played at all levels in college. I look forward to posting on FlameFans and following LU this season and beyond.

Hello!
I'm Wendy from Knoxville, TN.
On the board I'm "Spectator" … because it sounded better than "Lurker".

My husband and I just dropped off our freshman Cross Country & distance runner for LU Summer Bridge this past weekend. I am mostly recovered from the emotional trauma.

He is the 3rd of 4 fabulous children. Our oldest is at Lee University (also LU & also the Flames) in History & Pastoral Ministries. Our second oldest (and only daughter) is Pre-Vet at the University of Tennessee. Our youngest is also a runner and a rising H.S. junior who now has eye on breaking a few of his brother's high school XC & Track records.

We have always been Vols, but now we are huge LU Flames fans too!
...and LeeU Flames ... and HVA Hawks ...

I might not post, but I'm always watching.

I've been lurking on and off since before Football season started, but finally signed up for an account a week or two ago.

I'm a 2008 LU graduate with a degree in Management Information Systems and I'm currently the Evening IT Technician at a community college in southwestern VA.

My interests include watching TV shows and movies with my wife (mostly on netflix since we don't have cable/satalite, and we've watched all of our DVDs/VHS tapes multiple times), Filming football games for the High School I attended, Following Liberty and Virginia Tech Football, and Playing Video Games. When I was an LU student I picked up an interest in Kendo, but haven't had the opportunity to continue with it since I graduated.

Welcome to the board!

I don't see kendo references often. I have a cousin in Japan who is a grand Master and world champion. I find it all ridiculously cool. But I'd never be able to talk my wife into letting my son switch from TKD.

Hey everyone. If you don't recognize the name immediately, I'm the new guy in Lynchburg covering the Flames for the News & Advance. I saw my name pop up already on a few boards, which means people are taking notice. And I have to give a thanks to Chris Lang for pointing me in the direction of this board and telling me to get involved.

Here's a little bit about me as an introduction:
I grew up in Richmond and went to George Mason University (Class of '08). Yes, I was there for the 2006 Final Four team and was a student reporter for the 2008 season when the Patriots were steamrolled by Notre Dame in Denver. For message board fanatics, I was somewhat involved with CAAZone during the 07-08 season and I helped out a ton with the message board's coverage of the CAA Tournament in Richmond.

I am a Mid-Major junkie when it comes to college basketball since that's what I watched a ton of while at Mason.

I ask for your forgiveness in the transition since for a little more than a month I was shuffling between here and Danville working both jobs. As of yesterday (Monday, Nov. 26), I am a full-time member of the N&A. However, I still haven't found an apartment up here and will be doing the back-and-forth trips until then. I plan on keeping up with the Flames even with the hour-long drives.

Before you say anything, I won't get offended at all if anyone posts something critical about what I write/don't write/whatever you may be unhappy with. Those types of things will keep me humble and probably will help me more than anything to find out what the readers want to see in the paper. I have Chris to rely on for the ins and outs of Liberty, but it'll help to see the community's reaction.

I think that about does it. Hopefully this has helped everyone get a better sense of the new writer in the local paper. I'll do my best to keep you informed through Twitter (@DSordelettLNA) and on the website once they set up a Liberty blog for me.

Welcome. Can you change your name to 4 letters or less? "SORDELETT" is gonna be hard for me to type all the time

PS we still love LANG so don't be offended by any comparisons. It's like the first time you bring your new wife to meet your family after your divorce when they still like your ex better. Even tho she dumped you for a richer dude down the street.
