He called Charlie that all the time.

this episode was tardsville....sure we find out who mib and jacob are BUT who in the heck is that lady?? you just moved the question back a generation...completely dumb.

is smokey even the mib? or is it just some culmination of dead souls that all want to escape the island and reek havoc ghostbusters style and taking on the form of MIB is the easiest way to communicate with Jacob.

i've been in the "not liking where this is heading" boat for quite some time but continued to just ride the wave out to get some closure. will continue to do so but i'm certainly not satisfied with the way this is playing out. alot of the answers seem to be like the writers created a poll on a lost website and the winner got to be the actual answer.

and tweeting crap liek that is either genius on their part, getting us to drop our excitement for the finale and the WHAM...its awesome. or they are just really helping getting us ready for the huge letdown.

yeah the writers are really starting to get on my nerves.

from an interview this week:
Quote:
Usually, when we get criticisms, it's along the lines of, "I really wish you hadn't done that." Or "I wish it had been different." And you throw it back at them and ask, "Well, what did you want it to be?" And they say, "I wanted to see the statue built," or "I wanted the Man in Black's first name," or "I want to know about the guy Sayid shot on the golf course." Okay, that's cool, you wanted those answers and we decided not to provide them to you. It's not because we're being cutesie, it's because that that didn't fit with our vision of the show.

no its because you are apparently crappy writers. every one of those scenes was put in to supposedly further the story along and lead us to an end game. finally we'd reach a point where we were like "OHHH THATS THE GUY ON THE GOLF COURSE" or at least it should of. we didn't put you into this corner. you yourselves wrote yourself into the corner. Now you just say "well we just aren't going to answer them and you will have to deal with that". this will make watching a 2nd viewing of this series something many will now never do. You aren't going to answer the questions because YOU HAVE APPARENTLY HAVE NO WAY OF BEING ABLE TO MAKE IT MAKES SENSE....just say it...its ok...i'd be much more accepting of that instead of "we have the answers but we aren't going to give them to you" you mistakenly brought into the story something you thought would add mystery, suspense, and excitement to the story and while it did then, it makes it fall completely flat on its face now.

some stuff I agree with though. Like the people whining about not seeing the statue built. That doesn't have anything to do with what's going on (presumably). You can assume that some Egyptians landed there at one point and built it. We don't need to see that. Or some things didn't work out, like the importance of Walt. I think they wanted to do more with that but he changed so much they couldn't really have him on anymore. On the flip side, I need to know why Ethan had super human strength. I've accepted that I will never know the answer though.

oh yeah. like adam and eve being revealed lends nothing to the story whatsoever. i would of them spent those 5 minutes last week explaining who "Mother" is. they even botched that. "they look to be about 40-50 years old" or 2000 years old. oops.

Jacob- "So who wants to run the joint?"
Jack- "I'll do it."
Jacob- "Cool. Drink this."

Anticlimactic, anyone?

yeah, I was almost wondering if we'd find out later that it was actually somebody else but that whole water blessing ceremony kind of sealed the deal on who it was. I thought that was a good episode though. I enjoyed it and I really think it furthered the story. I think they're done trying to explain anything and now we're just going to finish this story. Which is fine by me I guess. Should be entertaining. The final scene was supposedly under lock and key until the very last possible moment. I really don't think there can be this "AH HA!" moment at the end so I don't get that. Unless it's something mind blowing right at the end that actually connects the 2 time lines together. Which has to be resolved at some point.

Speaking of anticlimactic, is Richard dead? That would be ridiculous for him to go out like Artz or Ilana. Not to mention he's immortal.

Yeah, they've done a really crappy job about giving people a proper ending lately. Hopefully Richard's not dead.

Did anyone else notice that on the "scenes for next week" after the show, that they list off the names Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, and Locke? Do you think Locke will make a comeback on the island? I think most people would like to see that happen. His body is still lying around somewhere, although they made it a point to say "dead is dead".

What do you consider a proper ending? I was fine with Ilana and Sayid's deaths. The island was done with Ilana, and Sayid actually found redemption. The death of Sun and Jin was emotional and moving, and although people have argued that Jin should have stayed alive for the baby, I like to think I would have a hard time leaving the love of my life to die alone.

it was good... but there is just not enough information coming... this has been by far the worst of the 6 seasons. And i agree. they are done with who the lady was, where the island came from, what it actually is, all the math, dharma, time traveling, everything is going to be left by the wayside so they can play out these characters lives...

i'm not even sure 7 seasons would of helped.

I listened to a podcast put on by Jorge Garcia (Hurley) and he was talking about that. He said usually in the script when somebody dies, it says after "and Juliet is effing dead"

In the script it does not mention anything like that for Alpert. I really hope he is still alive.

I think I get it. The alterverse was a flash forward to after they had all lived out their lives and died. Not bad, but what about Jack's son? That whole last 30 minutes basically just explained season 6, but that's it.

Yea...they did explain the last season well....just left out the other seasons.

I really wanted to know about Dharma, how they got to the island and such.

It is coming to me....they all lived their lives, crashed on the island, got off the island, came back to the island, lived their lives. All of them died at some point in their lives. Who knows how long Ben and Hurley lived on the island. The Flash Sideways was their version of purgatory...they were all waiting for each other to connect so that they can move on from there.

I wish I had something to add but I had to settle for watching Bret Michaels take Celebrity Apprentice. I know, I'm lame. But I find it entertaining nonetheless.

At first I didn't get it. But the more I thought about it, and slept on it (weird), I think it was a pretty good ending. Most people I hear think that the ending meant they all died in the plane crash, which it totally wrong. Everything on the show was absolutely real except for the alternate reality, which was actually their "after death" reality.

Not bad.

I think what threw a lot of people off was the closing credits because it showed the plane wreckage, which would lead people to believe that no one survived. That was the biggest flaw in this whole ending, is that a majority of the people watching didn't really understand what was happening.

There were a couple things I didn't get about the church scene ending. Why was a newborn baby Aaron there? Where was Desmond's son? Was Miles there, why not? And of course, we all want to know, what the heck about Richard?

The stained glass window in the background during Jack and Christian's talk was completely unnecessary. I found it distracting and annoying during a very important part of the series.

I decided as I was trying to get to sleep last night that it was an epic season finale, but I'll drop it down to "good" in terms of series finale.

I'm actually really sad it's over. It's like someone died. They could have dragged it on for five more years and I wouldn't have minded. I mean, they did give closure, but I didn't want it to end.

I've been reading and listening to bits on the radio all day about this stuff and I'd say 50% of people think that they were dead the whole time. Even after being explained to what I've said (what actually happened) they're clinging to nothing being real.

I read that Mr. Eko was supposed to be in the finale, but he wanted way too much money to appear. Idiot.

At least it's open to a couple spinoff shows, the Island Adventures of Hurley and Ben, and a comedy/drama about the people who got off the island. Not really, but I guarantee people will be writing books about those two topics, much like they do with Star Wars.

I would really like to see a 2 hour movie about Ben and Hurley on the island. It can be used to answer all the questions from Season 1-5....mostly about the mysteries of the island, Dharma working there etc.

I know that Damon and Carlton said they would not have anything to do with it, but I am holding out hope they do something like that. And I would not watch if it was not Damon and Carlton doing it...I do not care to watch somebody else's interpretation of what happened.
