Swim Team Adds Three for Inaugural Season


Jake Shellenberger has announced the signing of three more athletes to National Letters of intent for the 2010-11 academic year.

Liberty Head Women’s Swimming Coach Jake Shellenberger has announced the signing of three athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2010-11 academic year.

Sarah McCorkle, Lindsey Romkes and Melissa Watson will join previously-signed team members Kirsten Blake, Amber Kerico, Emily Mudd and Bethany Wakeley as the first athletes to commit to Liberty for the first season of competitive swimming as a NCAA sport. They are slated to begin their careers as Lady Flames this fall.

I saw this girl swim when I was covering the Texas state swimming & diving championships for Fox Sports Net ...

Amber Kerico has committed to Swim for the Lady Flames at Liberty University under head coach Jake Shellengberger.Liberty is a NCAA Division I university in the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association. She currently swims with Ashburn Blue Waves under Coach Mike Kraeuter. In her 4 years at PVHS, she has lettering in cheerleading, track and swimming. She placed 4th in the State for the 100 yard Breaststroke her sophomore year. She was an Eastern Zone and Sectional Qualifier with USS swimming. Amber recently received the nomination for Scholastic All American with a qualifying time in the 200 yard Breast Stroke.
