I think it's safe to say that this was the most exciting opening round day in NCAA tourney history

7 of 15 games so far decided by a basket, 10 of 15 by single digits. With the Montana v. New Mexico game looking to make it 8/16 and 11/16

Another one I picked wrong.

In other news, Mallett is immature but entertaining, therefore we love him and Pretty has a good knowledge of the Book of James.

Finally, the Big East sucks and I'm not even looking at my bracket anymore, at least until this afternoon. When I went to bed last night I was tied for 30th in the Flamefans bracket challenge.

That game-winner in the N Iowa/UNLV game was one of the dumbest shots I've ever seen: game tied, guy was 5 feet behind the 3-point line, still 5 seconds on the shot clock....but it went in, so we can't say that.

The Marquette/UW game was really fun to watch, it was like a non-stop fast break.

And the Big East did not suck. Georgetown sucked, yes, but Marquette and ND both lost by a point to decent teams, and though Villanova didn't play well they won. Notre Dame was probably given too good of a seed to begin with.

yeah, there was some major misseedings. How Notre Dame went from last 4 in to 6 seed is ridiculous is beyond me. I also think that the level between midmajors and BCS conferencers is really close this year.

I think you’ll see the top 4-6 teams dominate the tournament while the rest of the field will continue to do what we saw yesterday.

WVU losing 10-0 right now to Morgan State. This is crazy.

Big East went 1/3 yesterday...the fact is, they sucked. Nova shouldn't have won, Notre Dame BBall is overrated, Marquette lost to a PAC-10 team that wouldn't have been in without winning that tourney and Georgetown was just flat outplayed by the 9th place team in the MAC.

Yea, almost every game it seems like WVU starts out like that. It's really annoying and I just can't take the stress much longer haha.

Haha nevermind. WVU is on a 67-26 run since I last posted.

Cornell over Temple was not a huge surprise. I called that game on selection sunday. I'm surprised Purdue is beating Siena (especially the way they are) right now. Clemson/Mizzou is as everyone expected right now.

I've got WVU in the championship game, and I've got Missouri winning this game. But if WVU has to play Mizzou, they're going to turn the ball over 40 times. Their defense is not only exhausting, but they foul A LOT. So much so that it can't possibly be called. On the flip side, they seem to have no idea what they're doing on offense. It looks like they run a fast break in the half court. Which as you can imagine, doesn't work very well.

Sanhan is living proof that a big man can be really good without being athletic. He's so solid and skilled.
