I warned you- I have the day off. It's my Sunday, and I'll spending it being ridiculous, since it's still snowing up here.

I already posted it- with yellow highlights.

and a few "cactus eater" and "spur-wearing" comments.

After all this- I may actually try installing this Chrome thing.

I don't know how one does this though- can you have both that and IE installed? And does it take much memory? I have a 2 yr old computer that isn't the fastest thing out there.

Someone please post a tutorial in PLAIN ENGLISH. And if it's more than 5 steps, I'm not gonna keep my interest.

1. Takes LESS memory
2. Yes you can have both installed

1 step.... go to www.google.com/chrome and click download

trying it as "save" now intead of "run"

wondering why, at 100.0 Mbps, this tells me its gonna take another 1hr 50 min 3 hrs,7 min, 10 sec to download a 555k file?

this is exactly why I don't try this stuff.

EDIT: updated to reflect the new est time of completion. YEESH

"Internet Explorer cannot download Google Chrome.exe, server reset"

hmmm... interesting.

why do I feel that's no coincidence.

It will work. Just start it over again. And as you can see 555k won't exactly fry your hard drive. I have IE, Firefox, Chrome & Safari all on my laptop. Although I rarely if ever feel the need to use IE or Safari. Apple keeps sneaking in Safari on my iTunes updates.

Probably a browser problem, Medic :ducks:

I've got IE8, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox installed. I still use IE8 because of one of the companies I work for (the IE plugin for FF doesn't work the best on their site, unfortunately). Safari is interesting, but there's nothing there that would make me use it over FF or Chrome. If I had to guess I use Firefox 90%, Chrome 5%, IE8 3%, Safari 2%.

I never really had that much of a problem with IE, and probably wouldn't have switched if I hadn't tried Firefox out of curiosity. At the time, it was faster, took up less memory, and was more reliable. I stuck with it because of that, even as IE improved. I got annoyed with IE8 because of the toolbars it wanted to install when I upgraded.

I downloaded Chrome just because it was the newest thing, and I was getting irritated at Firefox because it wasn't fast enough (turns out that it was my computer, and not the browser). And I downloaded Safari because I got paid to write an article about different browsers, so I needed to take a look at it.

Only one I haven't used is Opera; maybe I need to go download it, too ;)

willing to give it a shot but it won't load.

I PM'd his royal highness the whole error message I got in notepad- hopefully he can decipher it for me and instruct me on what to try next.

alright, I'm back to firefox. I'm not sure why but chrome really got bogged down and a bunch of sites were pretty much like using dial up. It was getting unbearable.

I really tried to like Chrome but something just wasn't right for me. I'm not sure if it's the layout or what but I'm back to Firefox for now as well.

It was that feeling that someone was watching you over your shoulder at all times, writing down everything that you were doing on a notepad named "adam42381", which they will then place in their vault of evil purposes.

So far I'm liking it. It's a lot faster than the firefox version I'm using but that is probably due to all the extensions that are on it.

So what are the themes are you are using for it? Currently I have the Zen theme but I'm looking for cool mountain theme.

I'm using the Chuck Anderson theme, its one of the artist themes. I don't really like the selection provided by Google so I'm going to look elsewhere one of these days.
