The best thing for us Pirates fans is for the Bucs to have a really bad April so we can just go on with our hopes for next year. I hate it when they are a couple games over .500 at the All-Star break and you start to really think this will be the year and then they trade their top three or four players for more "prospects". Maybe they should just drop back to AAA and make it official that they're just a farm team for the rest of the league.

Yeah... this is the preseason. Roy is good, but don't hand him an award for running over a bunch of grapefruit leaguers.

I don't know, i agree with what C.C. said about him today. He is going to be better in the NL because the 7,8,9 hitters aren't as good as the AL. He won't have to worry about a DH that is only in to kill the ball. I think this helps Roy a lot. It will be interesting to see how he does this season though

Posada, Cano, Swisher, Winn, Gardner aren't Grapefruit leaguers. Second, notice the time i posted my statement at 12:22, Roy didn't pitch till after 1pm. My prediction wasn't in response to his outing, it was due to him showing up at spring training facility a month before anyone else.

I have to head down in a few weeks. Scheduling meetings during ST is great b/c travel is minimal.

As far as the Pirates go....they have one of the better minor league systems in all of baseball right now. Their talent level is as high as it's ever been since the mid 90's when Benson, Aramis, Guillen and others came through.

shouldn't you be a REDS fan now? Due to the switching of minor league affiliates....

Aroldis Chapman, young southpaw fireballer is a young gun to keep an eye out for. He has been clocked at just over 102, and can bring that kind of heat for an entire ball game. He dominated in the WBC last year, and has Reds fans psyched for the future.

Atlanta Braves' Jason Heyward to start in right field -
http://tinyurl.com/yjhzrds
Rookie sensation Jason Heyward will open the season as Atlanta's regular right fielder.

"How could we keep him off the team?" Braves manager Bobby Cox said Friday. "He's done everything this spring."

The 20-year-old Heyward went into Friday's game against Detroit batting .366 with a tape-measure homer and five RBIs in 41 at-bats this spring. He had a .500 on-base percentage and .537 slugging average.

REALLY frustrated with the Cubs front office right now. They pay old and busted players ridiculous amounts of money and then feel they have to play them even if there is a more talented youngster waiting in the wings.

We've got a super-talented OF in Tyler Colvin who will probably make the 25 man, but will rot on the bench for the first month and then they will send him to Iowa. The kid put on 25 lbs of muscle over the winter and is flat-out raking the ball this spring (.455 avg).

Anyone else's organization do things like this, or is this what makes my team the Cubs?
