Did Seth win FOY last year?

I actually thought Okoye from VMI should've won it. Yes, his stats are a bit inflated due to their system, but from what I saw of all of the freshmen, he looked the most well-rounded and polished out of all of them.

agreed.

I wouldnt have a problem Okoye winning it.

He's one of those guys that got it on career achievements and really, I can't fault that this year.

GORDON
32 MPG
14.4 PPG
4 RPG
45% FG PCT
38% 3 PCT
1 SPG

SEXTON
33 MPG
13.8 PPG
1.3 RPG
43% FG PCT
38% 3 PCT
1.1 SPG

OKOYE
23 MPG
15.6 PPG
7.2 RPG
51% FG PCT
31% 3 PCT
1.9 BPG

Dont see why Sexton got it. I could see Okoye not getting FOY because he only logged 23 Minutes a game coupled with the system he played in, but both these guys have better numbers (although Gordon not by much).

Evan and Sexton went head to head Saturday night. Evan dominated him.

Barbour, Harris and of course Big Art are solid first team choices. IMHO Jamarco Warren and Gray are not. Warren barely shot 40% from the field and Gray was a non-factor on the boards. I would put Trifunovic on the first team, and I think he may be the leading candidate for POY next year. The 5th member is a tough call, so I'll be a homer and make it Kyle.

I don't think Trifunovic will do as well next year, since he'll have nothing around him.

I'm thinking exactly the opposite. His rebounding should go up just based on the fact that he won't have to fight for boards with Big Art or Joey any more. Defenses will key on him more, but he will get more shots because he will be the first option in their offense.

I don't disagree necessarily, but after Big Art, Harris and Barbour, there are about 10 players who are pretty equal. I just really don't see that there are 5 players you can say are truly deserving of first team honors this year, so why not a senior like Kyle instead of someone like Jamarco or Gray.

Sexton got off to a hot start and I think some of the voters had him in their mind early as FOY and didn't really notice that he had tailed off.

Plus we have JUCO transfer Masse Doumbe coming in. He is 6-8 220 and just scored 37 points in his teams playoff loss. He should help.

Keep in mind Laz has played out of position all year. He'll be a monster at the 4 spot. Doumbe who's actually closer to 6'7 will be the SF. Radford will be young next year and will have question marks at the 1 and 5 spot. We have 3 bigs that red shirted this year, how much they progress will be a huge factor.
