also, assuming those renderings are 100% accurate, the 1000 seats on each corner seems to take away a little bit of the grass seating, on the top picture, the side of the students side bleachers would be too tall to see the rest of the field from the grass, if thats true all the way around we lose some of that, not that well need it.

They theoretically can't go to the sides of the press box anyways, because the lighting would not reach the center of the field adequately enough, plus IMO it would cause a shadow.

Agreed! that would look ridiculosly stupid especially with the shadow. I hope that someone has brought this to Jeff's attention or the contractor to fix this design dilemma.

Go back and read SJ's post. The 2 towers shown are the lighting for the adjacent soccer field (facing the opposite direction). I'm pretty sure the lights for the Bill will be on top of the press box.

LU's going Wrigley and all games will be day games... You heard it first here. Heard they are taking current lights down to the softball field so the ladies can play their 8 home series at night. It will save on electricity bills too, because softball only has 16 home dates compared to Football having 6 or 7... I personally won't miss the night games - it's always cold and the lights shine right in your eyes like it's 2 in the afternoon and nothing is more annoying then squinting the whole time because it's so bright. Also heard that they are thinking of playing a couple football games in the soccer stadium this year... With William stadium not having lights anymore, they think it would be cool to have a few night games under the lights... I agree - nothing like a good night game!

Dont know how to add a picture but if you look at the picture of the back of the stadium you see that those are the lights. It looks like they will not be obstructed by the press box and will be able to light the whole field IMO.

Guys, I heard that they're going to replace the field turf with a pool of water for our new water polo club team, and the FOC is going to become a new classroom building for the school of fine arts. Football is being moved to David's Place, and will play in the parking lot by David's Place.

Dang it TTL, that wasn't supposed to be leaked. There was a part in the original plan that ended up getting changed last minute though. David's Place is going to be given to quiz bowl. However, we've worked a deal out with the city where they'll allow us to practice and hold games at Treasure Island. The only hold up is we're trying to figure out how to get everyone over there. We only own five canoes and a couple of kayaks so we're hoping a big time donor steps up and can buy the rest that are needed.

Oh yeah, part of the deal was that we can't take buses to Treasure Island. Because of that, the program is partnering with Eco-X to train everyone in distance running so that the fans can still make it to the kayak location.

I have it on good authority that LU is in secret negotiations with John Lynch's great-great-great grand nephew to bring back Lynch's Ferry for the games. Also, a new polling place specifically for LU students will be located on the island.

I heard just now LU is going to adopt the ORCA that killed the trainer at Sea World Yesterday and put it in a huge tank on top of the new press box. This will SAVE THE WHALE. The lights will be behind that and will illuminate the tank and the field at the same time.



So I think you could post just about anything here, and SOMEONE would believe it.
