Barbour rebounds his own shot and scores at the buzzer in OT to give HPU the win 84-82. Very high scoring overtime. You don't see that often. Barbour had 30.

Kind of reminded me of the double OT game GW played down here last year against LU.....I researched.....first OT of that game both teams scored 8, then in the second OT, GW outscored LU 15-10. Classic game, one of the better ones I've seen in person at Porter Arena since 1991. One thing I remember was that Curry came off the bench for you guys since McKay sat him for being late for a meeting I believe.

Anyway, G-W still sucks this year. A four game homestand and we go 1-3, with the only win being the OT win against PC.

On the other hand, our women today, after only leading Coastal 25-20 at half, started the second half on a 19-0 run, outscored them 53-13 in the second half and won 78-33....that game up there with y'all on Feb. 8 is going to be a dandy I believe.

Radford has cut the lead to 56-53 with 7:43 left. I'm actually pulling slightly for RU in this one, as it would put us ahead of UNCA if they won.

Don't want to jiinx us as we have a tough two game road trip coming up on the coast, but we are starting to play well.

We've gone with the smaller lineup (four guards + John Williams) and it has done wonders for our offense. We obviously give up some offensive rebounds and give away a few easy buckets on defense, but we more than make up for it with the advantage it produces on our end of the floor. Centers and power forwards are not quick enough to match up with Chris Stepheson and John Williams. We spread the court out.. which creates all kinds of room for JP and Dickey to penetrate and provides opportunities for them to either score, drop it off to John, or kick it out to the wing for a wide open three.

Over our last six conferene games, we are averaging 85 points per game. We've put up 99 against Presby, 83 against High Point, and 92 against Radford in our last three.

As far as Radford... teams now know how to beat them. Crowd the inside, triple team Art every time he touches it, and make the other players beat you. They hit 8 threes against us yesterday (which has to be a season high), but still couldn't do enough on the other end to get the victory. It was a pretty comfortable win.

They hit nine against JMU, but your point stands. RU hasn't been hitting large numbers of perimeter shots with any consistency this year.

Art had 30 pts and 22 boards tonight for Radford in their 111-84 win over VMI. RU shot over 50% for the game from 3.....if they start doing that consistently, they'll begin to run away with it.

Longwood took down High Point today in Farmville. HPU played normal starters in what seem to be normal minutes, and on offense they were held down by the Lancers.... maybe HPU is starting to slide? Peaked too early? Or just a bad road team?

HP was up by 10 with 4:18 to go in the game, then Longwood went on a 16-2 run to end the game and win. Really inexcusable when you have a player like Barbour on your roster.

This is definitely going to be interesting to see how it plays out in the end. 7 teams could, statistically speaking, finish 1st in the league.
