That's how it should be.

Good job, Tim!

I'm guessing you're asking about the one who is only there because of who his daddy is?

inconsistent defense in the first half killed us. dickey was a beast tonight for UNCA and they hit the timely shot and we could never get the lead. konan and JA stepped up big tonight. hopefully KO will be able to hang in with that fractured wrist because we so need him. i would love to see evan become more consistent and a second straight no-show game for perez. the crowd was good tonight especially late. a big road trip next week and high point and radford where a split will be pivotal.

the skinny big-eared ref was awful. he looked like a high-schooler and made some questionable calls, but that is certainly not why we lost the game.

We are 2-8 since 2003 when Scott Smith is our head ref and the only wins were 3+ years ago. Not blaming them by any means, but it's interesting.

The guy Smoothie is talking about has only reffed 19 Division I games (tonight was his 20th) and it's usually Big South vs Non DI games. Once again, not blaming them, just interesting trends that pop up.

The other ref was one of the refs in the Radford/Coastal game on Thursday and by all accounts, that game was officiated terribly. He also reffed our game at Radford two years ago that ended on a very touchy no-call going against us (Smith also reffed this game). Also officiated our game at Asheville that year that got very physical (both ways) and out of control at times (BJ Jenkins got thrown into a wall, he also pushed a kid and got a no call). Like I've said on the other two paragraphs, I want to make it clear that I am in now way blaming tonight's loss on the referees.

Needless to say, tonight's crew wasn't nearly as good as the crew we had on Thursday.

On a side note, here are Coach Layer's post-game comments.

Bingo. I've heard from more than a few that he's rather - how shall I put it? - "showy" with his mechanics.

To each his own. I personally prefer some good ol' fashioned blatant homerism. I also always like yelling at the other teams radio guys when we are on the road and they start whining about the officials, but with Scar there's really nothing to complain about.

I don't know if yall've played @ high point yet or not, but they have the worst announcer in the history of mankind. Make sure you watch The Edge for that game. It is hilarious.

Watched on MASN. Best line by Scar:

"Evan Gordon left the defender with his pants on the floor."

Hope I didn't lead you astray too far... Jessie didn't actually foul out. They initially called that foul on him and then went back upon further review and gave the foul to Burrus. I'm not sure if that goes back to the officiating or if someone goofed at the table, but I guess in the end it didn't mean much...

This was really a bad loss. We can't lose at home to teams we're competing with for a first round home game. Need to steal another on the road to make up for it.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the compliment! I just try to be call the game the way I have a conversation with people in the room when I am watching at home. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I agree that this is a bad loss. I saw the whole game on MASN and was not the least bit impressed with us. Too many defensive lapses, missed opportunities, and gave them way too many 2nd chances to score dispite good performances from Anderson, Konan, and Burrus. I know that UNCA is a better team than the one that lost by over 60 points to Tennessee but you can't lose to these types of teams on your home floor. This might be our first bad loss of the year if you don't count the loss at Winthrop.
