My dad was at the game. Said we made really good adjustments in the 2nd half especially on defense. Said Kyle looked great. Thought the officiating was very one-sided in favor of gmu.

Ha, they have a thread saying Jesse is a d----- (just quoting them Sly). It's funny that they pick one of the nicest, most polite and genuine people on our team and talk crap about him all because he took a towel from a kid and wiped himself off.

We are what we thought we were.

At the beginning of the game Ohman was the only guy on the team that looked for a shot. By the end of the first half Minaya started to come around and then Carter. For the first 30 minutes Gordon and Perez looked like deer caught in headlights. They were scared. That's not unexpected. It was pretty loud in there. I think we saw Gordon grow up before our eyes last night. After he hit that 3 he calmed down and looked like he belonged out there.

We are in desperate need of scorers to step up with Ohman. I think those guys will be Minaya and Gordon. Carter looked good out there. He does well on the initial altercation of a shot, but more times than not last night they would miss the shot but be more physical than him to get the rebound. That was his biggest weakness. I was surprised he didn't even step behind the 3pt line more than once or twice. He was definitely better than Baker last night.

I like the way coach was doing the substitutions. Baker/Carter split all the time at the 5. Ohman at the 4 with Konan getting his minutes when he sat down. Minaya at the 3 with Anderson backing him up. Then a rotation of Jesse, Evan and Perez at the 1 and 2 spots.

Say what you want about Kyle but he played amazing last night. Shooting, driving, passing, hustling on defense, etc.

The best thing I saw in the team was their desire to compete and their toughness. They didn't crawl into a hole and die when we got down big. Sure we could be 1-5 in a week, but we're going to grow up fast.

And neither did James Spencer. Nothing against James, but that's a good thing. It's a problem when a walkon has to play major minutes because you don't trust the players you recruited.

I really hope Layer can find a role for Weaver. Maybe a defensive stopper if an opposing player gets hot or something.

I think one of the answers to who will we get points from besides Kyle is right in front of our face. Look at Jesse's stat line. 15 points on 5-7 from the field and 1-2 from 3, and he still had 7 boards and 4 assists. I hope Gordon, Minaya and Perez can step up too, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Jesse averages 13-16 a game.

Anderson. Gordon and Minaya all shot poorly (6-25 combined), we only made 1-6 from the line in the first half, and we lose by 4 to a good team on the road. There are definately some things to build on there.

Impressive showing against a still good Mason team. When you beat them last year was that @ LU?

That isn't that surprising though. Anderson and Minaya hadn't played a game in two years and it was Gordon's first game in college.

nova playing with 4 guards and Taylor King so far this half. Now within 3 with 15 left. That's funny. We beat them with 5 guards last year.

GMU up by 3 with 2:50 left.

Preseason rankings are so absurd.

Horrible ending for GM. They have the ball, after a timeout, for the last second shot.......they never even attempted one.
