Dennis Kucinich jokes aside, it is going to be very environmentally friendly.

And there's really no reason for us to have a 6,000 seat arena. We probably will have trouble filling up Kimmel Arena. App State and Western have huge coliseums and routinely have 400 people show up for games. It makes no sense. The fact that a d-3 school in Michigan has a nicer arena doesn't really mean much to me. It's an upgrade from The Justice (what wouldn't be?) and it's a perfect fit for UNC-A.

Kudos to you guys. It's a nice looking facility from the pictures.

Radford put in a new floor before last season. Very nice. Same floor that Michigan St and others go with.

Good, hopefully KO won't get anymore "splinters" in his back.

Are you talking about the ski lodge looking place with the hoops fixed to the wall? What's so modern about it? Did you guys get rid of the vending machine where you pull the knob and get a pack of cigarettes?

That is nice, but come on now, Hope College is a D3 school and they have an arena just as nice if not better than that.

that's awesome and I'm sure its a great recruiting tool. I'm not saying this building is the greatest on the planet.... But its easily better than: High Point, CSU, Coastal, Radford, Presby, Campbell (which is pretty nice), and I would also argue Gardner Webb... I think it competes well with Winthrop and has some advantages (not as big though), VMI & Liberty still have better buildings. So we now (well Dec 2010 we will) have top 3 or 4 facilities in conference and I'll take that.

And we are apparently going to break the new arena by hosting the Tar Heels.

An idea which I vehemently oppose. The first game in the new arena shouldn't be played in front of a crowd that is primarily cheering for the opposing team against a squad that is going to beat us by 80.

Yeah I've talked myself out of opposition to it in the past five minutes after I really thought about the situation.

I just hope we don't immediately open up the tickets to the general public. We should fill it up with as many UNC-A fans as possible.

Hope has a nice facility, but I bet those Hope fans would trade their facility for UNCA's team. It is nice to see you all vacate the Justice. The new place is better than the Civic Center, as well.
