I've read a few articles today about Sam and he's sounding kind of cocky, the way they are writing it. Here's an example...

Last year he seemed very humble and acted like he was lucky to get the chance to play in the NFL...from what I've read in the preseason...he's sounding like every other NFL player out there.

I didn't read it like that at all. I sort of see him as being frustrated. He showed he's got the talent, but in comes a new coach and all of the sudden the the fullback band-aid. Sounds like he's in a better position now.

Not even sure how that sounds cocky. Sounds like all he is saying is "Yes, I know the offense and the reason I have not shown it is b/c the high dollar all pro is in front of me.". What is cocky about that?

I guess it's just the way I'm reading it then. There just appears to be a different tone to the way he is saying things (which can definitely be influenced by the writers). I'm a Gado fan through and through, but I couldn't believe someone took him in between Big Ben and Favre in my fantasy football draft.

I didn't read that as cocky at all. Not even close. Now when he starts referring to himself in the third person, well then come talk to me about cocky . Truthfully he belongs in the league and has proven himself. Why should he come with his hat in his hand begging for rubbles (somebody will have to explain that analogy to Manger ). Everyone should appreciate their opportunity and acknowledge who helped them get to where they are but after a while, you don't need to keep doing it. Like Kelly Clarkson on American Idol. She won the show and it afforded her many opportunities. Now she is a bonafide star and it has been years. Should she still be thanking AI for the opportunity? Of course not.
