It works. It's not fabulous unless you get the mobile Opera browser, but it works for what I want to use it for. The speed is decent, and most sites work pretty well with it.

I've been using the Safari browser on my Touch lately (FINALLY got it working with my WiFi network), and I like it a lot, but the browsing experience on my Curve has been pretty good.

I did pay for it...I forget how much though...it was not too bad. I got it mainly for 1 touch SMS, but after playing with it, there are so many useful things for it that it makes it definitely worth the price.

With one button presses, you can set up shortcuts that allow you to send texts to any of your contacts. For example...I set the left auxiliary key to launch Quicklauch, then I press the "M" key and it is set to send a text to my wife. I use it to connect to berryweather, another to connect to berryweather radar, my calandar etc....

A friend of mine has been through 3 BB Tour phones b/c of some defect with the trackball. I also noticed this weekend, that the price has dropped to $99 for new Sprint customers. Isn't that a quick drop from $199 (after mail-in rebate)?? Think there is another version coming out soon??

It is a quick drop in a very down economy. And yes, there are several models coming out before the end of the year from various providers.

By the time we're ready to upgrade phones, the Tour will be the new Curve ($50 or less). I'm hoping I can get one of the higher-end phones by then (still holding out hope for a Storm with a slider).

I'm about to run out and either get the Storm of Tour from verizon, i can't wait anylonger to get a new phone, i went through 3 new ones two septembers ago notBB's but another phone. Dad said he wasnt paying for another new one. I've had the first ENv for over a year, its not taking a charge anymore and only stays at one bar battery power. Jon or LUConn i know some of the problems about crashing, but is the storm worth getting. all i would use it for is text, non-school email and answering phones (and prolly facebook and twitter and score updates) i have an ipod touch i use for other things. I really want the Storm but idk if its worth it.

rumor is that the palm pre's price is going to be slashed if it hasn't already, so if you like the palm pre I might hold out to get that depending on what the price is like.

Sprint Yanks Palm Pre Incentive

Nancy Gohring, IDG News Service

Sprint has pulled a US$100 service credit for new Palm Pre buyers just hours after it made the offer.

Earlier on Tuesday Sprint began offering $100 worth of service to people who switch to the operator and buy a Pre. In some areas, the deal might still appear on Sprint's Web site. But hours after posting the deal online, Sprint said it had removed it.

"After further internal review today, the offer of a port-in service credit of $100 to new customers who buy the Palm Pre has been pulled, because it was put into the system in error," James Fisher, a Sprint spokesman, said in a statement.

The Tour is the greatest phone I've ever used in Lynchburg including the Iphone. Once ATT gets better service I doubt I could say that but for the time being its hands down the best. Pre is good to though but for those with VZ you gotta go with the Tour

Better service? In Lynchburg?

I don't think it's going to happen. After the two conversations I had with the CEO's office as a result of an email I sent, I think I can safely say that they really don't seem to care about Lynchburg AT ALL. I think there may be minor improvements by the end of the year. They might even roll out 3G coverage, but with the overall coverage being so bad and signal being so weak, it won't really matter to me.

They are so so so bad in Lynchburg. I can't express that strongly enough.

Still keeping my iPhone, though.

So the Pre has dropped $50, so if you got one in the last 30 days you can get that rebate (score for me!). Also, Sprint is now adding this feature to anyone with an Everthing Data plan, it's called Any Mobile Anytime. You basically get free unlimited minutes when calling any other cell phone, regardless of the carrier or time of day. http://www.precentral.net/sprint-unveil ... e-any-time

Not too shabby. Not that I would have ever run out of minutes in my plan, but it's a pretty sweet deal.

That settles it for me right there, Sprint it is. That Any Mobile, Anytime feature blows the competition out of the water. I was looking at getting the 450 everything data plan because it was the only plan out there with unlimited data for $70. T-Mobile had one for around $65, but T-Mobile's service in Lynchburg is not that good. Now with this feature, nothing even comes close to it. Since virtually everyone I call uses their cell phone and doesn't even have a landline, that amounts to $70 for virtually unlimited minutes and data, you just cant get better than that anywhere else as far as I know.

I agree. That's pretty stiff competition. Sprint is coming to play with their current phone selection and this new plan. Here's hoping it causes some healthy competition.

Also, Anyone who has a individual plan over $69.99 or a family plan over $99.99, you'll get premier status and you qualify for a phone upgrade every year. I hope Sprint finally get back on its feet. The more competition the better.
Someone on engadget posted that in the comment section. Does anyone know if that is true? That sweetens the deal even more...

I called yesterday and because of the plan we have plus how long we have been with them, we get unlimited cell to any cell calling now. So my minutes are only going to be used for calling land lines. All I have to say is Sprint is hands down becoming the best carrier.

Best deal outside of Cricket, I will grant you.

Best carrier? The signal issues nationally and abroad remain the same no matter what how the marketing plans evolve.

I guess I haven't encountered a huge signal problem yet. I have been from New York, down to Florida, and out west to Vegas and have had one or two signal problems.

Don't forget minutes still get used for roaming, and I believe when someone calls you.

I'm still trying to convince Best Buy to give me the $50 rebate on my Pre, they haven't lowered their price yet.

I don't talk on the phone much, so that's not a big deal to me at least. 450 minutes would be more than well enough for a month, although it's nice to have the unlimited calling to cells feature in place in case I have to do a crap load of calling sometime. However, I did read somewhere that sprint users get to use the verizon network without that counting as roaming, don't know if that's true or not.
