Hampden-Sydney is doing just fine in D3 without TV coverage, just like all of the other top tiered D3 schools like Williams, Middlebury, Amherst, Cortland, Emory, TCNJ, Tufts, Messiah, etc.
I have all the respect in the world for what those schools are able to accomplish. Its fantastic, ON A D-III LEVEL! How can you possibly hope to compare any lessons learned on that level to the different (in no way better) circumstances of Liberty and Division I?!

Furthermore, are you actually telling me that if LC got the opportunity to play Liberty in any sport, and the game was arranged by LU to be televised on WSET, that LC's administrators wouldn't jump at the opportunity - even knowing full-well that they compete at a far different and lower level, and will most certainly be an underdog???

C'mon shuk. Be realistic.

Did I say LU didn't need TV? No. I said D3s don't need it, never said D1s don't. D1s need it, D3s don't. Just a simple fact based on the differences between the divisions.

Did I say LC would turn down the opportunity? No. I said LC didn't need tv exposure, I didn't say LC would turn down an opportunity if it arose nor did I say they wouldn't want the opportunity to get tv coverage if it presented itself. I don't need a lot of things (a million dollars, an iPhone, a ferrari, etc.), but that doesn't mean I'm going to turn down the opportunity just because I don't need it.

So what's your point? All you did was make up stuff I said to help make a point that doesn't even matter because you made up all the basis for your point...

PS, administrators don't make the sports schedules for non-conference games, the coaches do...

Yes, D-I's need TV. I'm glad we could agree on that. This is precisely why no forseeable outcome of the LU-WVU game could outweigh the positive effect and advatages of LU football being televised throughout central VA and all of WVa.

Oh and actually, some LC administrators would absolutely turn down an opportunity to be on WSET against LU because they hate LU - these same people were ready to basically cut off the head of the mens hoops coach for scheduling LU for a regular season game a few years ago for multiple reasons, but the main reason being because it was LU (luckily for the whole school he was released of his duties two years later for reasons unrelated to scheduling LU). There are others that would welcome every single opportunity to be on TV too, though, and that is why we welcome jet broadband with open arms whenever they want to come cover some of our games for tape delay broadcasts.

Back to the topic at hand...

Liberty football will be televised LIVE 7 times this season. All 6 home games on FSN, VMI also on the Big South Network. And of course, WVU. Also, Lafayette on MASN tape delayed.

Every minute of that exposure, no matter the score is a good thing.over 40 million homes.

How many FCS teams can you name with that kind of exposure? I'll help you out: you can count them - on one hand.

According to you in this thread, the LC administration is made up substantially of LU people. Suddenly, now those all those influential LU folk want LC to have naught to do with their alma mater? Pick a story and stick with it, shuk.

Maybe you should actually read that thread, you won't find me saying LC has a substantial number of LU grads nor do I ever even say that the administrators are LU grads. Why? Because they aren't.

Dude, LC has a better men's lacrosse program than LU (even when you had a club team our club team was significantly better).

Well, stop the presses.

And if LC has such a great sports program, then shouldn't you be polluting HornetFans.com with your mindless drivel?

So, in lieu of LU's performance, was it good to have the game broadcast on WSET from an exposure standpoint? What say all of you?
