Thank you. I am trying to be a better poster. Oh and BTW I had the pic before L4L. It actually confused me once because I thought I posted something that I knew I didn't- then I looked at the name.
I apologize for my avatar... I had the other logo, and then some guy said it brought up bad memories. So I changed it. And now I seem to have plagarized someone else! Oh well. I'll change it again.
That's ok; at least it made people think I had good posts

(But seriously though, I am trying)

Tonight LCA had a scrimmage with Franklin County and mike rocco broke his wrist or hand, the doctors dont know yet excatly what happen and how bad the damage is, Just pray for him because LCA's football team really needs him this year and who knows if it will affect his scholarship and his college future

I doubt this hurts his scholarship but then again, you never know. The injury is non-throwing hand. I think the chances of him playing this year are about the same as me getting a date for tomorrow night unfortunately.

Man this really stinks for Mike and for LCA. Gonna be a long season for both. Hope this doesn't hurt his shot with Louisville.

DO you know this for sure???
I'm fairly confident.
The way it was described to me doesn't sound good.

I was there and it didn't look good. They are saying he could be done for the year, but could possibly be back for the last few games or the playoffs. LCA has a pretty good back up, but he is inexperienced and certainly not at Rocco's level. It shouldn't affect his scholarship, but you hate to see this happen to anybody. Mike is atalented athlete and class act. I hope and pray that he heals well and fast.

A lot of Mike's recovery will be based on his mental outlook and his own rehab. My son (Mike Connolly, #55) tore his ACL in June before his senior HS year. The "experts" said his HS football career was over. But his determination, positive attitude, and rehab regimen enabled him to play just over 4 months later, getting back to his team for the last 5 regular season games, then into the playoffs.

Don't be surprised to see Rocco come back mid-season. With everyone's prayers and his own determination, many things are achievable.

Another great article by Chris Lang. Very in depth and informative. A little surprised the paper only ranked LCA 7th in the area. Even with the injury of Rocco I expected them to be higher. I ran into Jones the other day. He is absolutely huge! I am looking forward to seeing this team play. The first game against Gretna will be a key as to how the season will go for the bulldogs. Glad to hear the Mike Rocco may be back on defense in the mid to late season ... though QB is apparently out of the question.

Champion -- LCA was going to be higher, but the Rocco injury did drop them a few spots. No doubt about that. When we started this, we had LCA in the top 5.

Mike's injury was a dislocated shoulder and dislocated elbow for all who are wondering that is what I have been told by people at LCA.

"He broke his radius and dislocated his ulna at the wrist. So it's a dislocated wrist and a cracked radius. They took a six-inch plate and nine screws to put the crack together. And they set the wrist back in place. Right now the nerve is really the issue. ... The ulna nerve is what controls the pinky and ring finger. What they're saying is that nerves can re-generate, so it's a matter of time to see what happens."

That's directly off my recorder from Frank Rocco, so that should clear up the questions about the injury.

Sly Fox wrote:I feel confident that having some experience with Kragthorpe in recruiting and knowing the Rocco family knows this business like few others, Mike was given many assurances to commit. Kragthorpe runs the type of offense that catches QBs' attention.
Now that Kragthorpe is rumored to be the next D1 coach to be fired, the question is whether Mike Rocco was given verbal or written authorization to be released from his commitment if there was a head coaching change. If my understanding is correct, the LOI is still intact if a release option (written or verbal) was not offered to the player. In the world of major collegiate athletics, this is something that has to change with the NCAA.

If Kragthorpe is fired and Mike is released, where does he go?

Do you have a FF shock notification alert system? Thanks for the quick response.

I just happened to see there was a new post and responded. I'm in North Carolina, in a town where I don't know anyone, and working on homework. Needless to say, I look for any type of break in that I can get.

The Kragthorpe situation has been hanging over this commitment for weeks. If he sticks, this is likely a dead issue. If he is let go, then it will be up to the new staff to decide if they continue to extend his offer. It was a similar deal at UL that brought us Chris Summers.

Unless Mike has had major regrets, this won't be decided until a new staff comes in and assesses the situation.
