Whenever it's storming outside, I always think about Fumble posting his radar maps & HMO checking out the Weather Channel. 8)

This weather sucks, not only does it reduce business at the stadium, it also blocks me from seeing the meteor shower

I was way out in the Texas Hill Country and watched some of the meteor shower last night. I actually saw more space station passes than meteorites.

Posty, I take full credit for that...I had to be very stern to those that wanted to start their own weather threads....just not allowed

by far the worst storm i've seen in years tonight. I thought my house was going to blow over. Hail and everything. Water started leaking from places in my ceiling it never has before....crazy intense. Really it was only Rustburg that got hit....I know wyndhurst didnt even get anything

But there seems to be more on the way!

I had some lightning and a few big cracks of thunder but nothing bad or worth getting excited for.

I guess i was on the edge of it...the weather channel said 4 miles from rustburg is the worse part figured you would have gotten it though....seriously I thought my tree was coming down on top of my car. not to mention the wind forced water under my shingles and started to leak now which is really awesome

We got a spot downpour on campus about that time. It was done in about 20 minutes though

Not a lynchburg thing, but worth mentioning- Bill is cranking out some serious surf here in Va Beach. I got my butt handed to me this afternoon by some 8-10 footers. We're not used to stuff that big around here!

Everyone else is standing out in the rain at Williams, and I'm in my living coughing and sniffling with what appears to be Round 2 of the cold I've been battling all week :(

It's October 16th. It's 45 degrees outside. And I can see snow. It's microscopic, but it's definitely snow.

Did you call HMO to tell him to put his wipers up?

90% chance of snow tomorrow. I'm looking at the map and I just don't see where that's coming from.

Image

All of that looks too far away to get here by tomorrow and stick around for a day.

We're looking at 2-4" here in Houston ... it is supposed to get down possibly into the teens tonight. That would smash all sorts of records for us.

I hope to God we don't get snow. We need kids out to the basketball game tomorrow.

I would rather have a little more time to learn my 4wd but if it does snow this weekend I'll have to learn on the fly

it doesnt snow enough here to need it. People, the only accidents caused here are because people freak out about a half inch. Drive reasonably and you wont have a problem. If your going to be going up hill, you need momentum, otherwise you will slide backwards. Give yourself extra time to slow down/stop, dont follow people too close, dont go flying around corners.

Latest model guidance indicates a more potent storm system. Parts of Virginia, possibly Lynchburg and probably Charlottesville will have winter storm watches issued. I don't think 3-6 inches is out of the question especially around c'ville.
