Niceeee. I just tuned in again because I wanted to check out Roy Hibbert. Have to say they aren't nearly as bad as they were the other day ago when they were giving food nicknames to everyone then proceeding to continue using those names when no one had any clue who "grilled cheese" was...

Dear announcer guys,

flamesbball whatever the number is isn't really a Liberty fan. He actually is a Lynchburg College fan. He's had two other names banned on here (the first to ever do that) and then made the Liberty one to try and fit in. Please do not associate him with us.

Thanks.

To ride the coattails of another entity, one has to achieve their success off that entity. LC was a successful college for 68 years before LU even opened it's doors.

The Princeton Review lists it as one of the 368 best colleges in the nation., LU isn't in this ranking.
U.S. News & World Report ranks Lynchburg 33rd in the top tier of southern master's universities. Lu doesn't rank, but they are given the title of Tier 4.
LC is also one of only 40 colleges nationwide cited in Colleges That Change Lives and is also profiled in The Templeton Guide: Colleges That Encourage Character Development. LU is not included on that list.
Lynchburg College was the first institution in the United States to train nuclear physicists and engineers for the NS Savannah project under order of President Eisenhower, to aid in the development and operation of the world's first nuclear powered ship.

If being considered one of the top 368 colleges and one of the top 40 masters universities, both better than what Liberty is considered, is called riding the coattails of Liberty, then I'll take that. Not to mention the fact Jerry Falwell couldn't even hack it at LC and had to transfer to an, at the time, unaccredited bible school to complete his college education.

Jerry could hack it there. He just wanted to get away from the liberalism and mediocrity associated with LC...

Getting back somewhat on topic, I watched portions of 3 different games Anthony played in. He did not appear to be outmatched athletically and was able to get some good looks, but certainly did not shoot well. He took a lot of 3s, which is his game, but it looked to me like he hasn't adjusted to the longer NBA 3 point shot. Kindof a shame, but the reality is being an inch or so off on a few shots could have a significant impact on how his performance in these games is viewed.

LC has produced pastors in the past. It's not impossible to become a pastor while earning your education at LC. One of my mother's cousins actually went to LC about 25 years or so ago and became a pastor...

Jerry didn't just want to be a pastor Shuck, He wanted to be pastor of a Baptist Bible Fellowship church, like the one he was saved in and attended. Baptist Bible Colege was the clear choice, and I doubt if LC was even under consideration once he was called into the ministry. In addition, his good buddy Jim Moon was on the same track, and they went to BBC together. You are really arguing about things out of your area of expertise here.

Colleges That Change Lives?
Colleges That Produce Character?

You are hanging your hat on those rankings? How in the world are they measured? Do your students fill out a survey when the graduate?

1. Has your life changed since you got here? Yes/No
2. Do you have more character now than when you enrolled back in '02?

Basically some guys figured out a way to con small colleges like yourself out of money so alums can go around and brag about how their college is "more likely to make a difference" or one of the top 45 "small college liberal arts masters education universities in the southeast founded before 1932."

Edit: Not saying LC is a bad school. More or less just making fun of those rankings. It's like that crap you used to get back in high school. "Congratulations, you are one of the Top 30,000 students in America. Now give us $30 and we'll put your info in our annual yearbook!!" Some idiots would actually pay the cash and brag about it, but that doesn't mean anything was actually accomplished. The people are just trying to make some $$$$.

I think it was called like "Who's Who" of something or another.

I guess the Princeton Review has conned UNCA pretty well too then
he Princeton Review of "America's Best Value Colleges" ranked UNCA third[5] on their list of Top 10 Best Value Public Colleges of 2008. The Fiske Guide to Colleges ranked UNCA among top 20 Best Buys[6] in public liberal arts education, saying, "The University of North Carolina at Asheville offers all the perks that are generally associated with pricier private institutions: rigorous academics, small classes and a beautiful setting. And it does it for a fraction of the cost." The U.S. News & World Report's annual college rankings has placed UNCA fourth in the nation[7] among public liberal arts colleges. The Princeton Review lists UNCA in "the Best 311 Colleges",[8] saying, “For students who seek a public education in a smaller campus environment, this is a great choice.”

Ah yes "Who's Who." I was inducted into that for HS and College but didn't give them a single cent. I figured it's better to be able to put that on a resume than not, so why not agree to be in it if I don't have to pay anything?

I'm sure UNCA probably does needlessly care about those rankings. Never said otherwise. Still doesn't mean they are worth anything.

They are worth something, if nothing else just to get students to come to the school or to get the school's name out in the air.

All I have to say is this, if LC is mediocre, then why will VA Tech accept LC MBA credits but won't accept LU MBA credits for students looking to transfer to VA Tech? Does that mean LU is even further below mediocre then if their credits are deemed less acceptable than LC's?

If that's all they're for then we don't need them. If you did a survey of the general American public, I can guarantee you MANY more people have heard of LU over LC.
